SQUATS

Foam roll and band stretches

Lots of warm-ups with the bar whilst waiting for the rack

Squats
60kgs x 8
80kgs x 8
100kgs x 5
120kgs x 3
140kgs x 1
Add suit with straps down and belt
170kgs x 1
190kgs x 1
Add knee wraps
210kgs x 1
225kgs x 1 PB with straps down

Leg Press
200kgs x 10
250kgs x 10
280kgs x 10

Supersetted with pulldown cable abs
7plates x 35, 25, 15

All done in around 100minutes. Great session today. Hip felt fine until 100kgs raw and although 140 still wasn't as explosive as I'd like, it was almost pain free and moved easily. Wrapped knees even tighter than last week and new technique is working a charm. Ended up cutting 210 high because the wraps bit so hard, I thought I must be at depth. Came back and got 225 down to there or thereabouts. I think it was in but the video angle is not the best. I am loving the slow descent and then dropping into the hole and exploding though. Feels very good.

The rack height does pose a problem though. Next week I want to put my straps up and look at an opener style weight of around 235-240. You can see on the videos that whilst the main rack is out of commission, I am having to use spotters to lift me out of the other one. This is an almighty pain in the ass with 225 but with straps up and a bit more weight on there, I'd really be looking to just walk the damned thing out. The new rack has been welded, just not assembled yet. No ETA either... Not sure what to do but I may well be squatting elsewhere next weekend.

I have decided to drop to a single lift focus per session between now and the meet. With the gear on, time is pushed and I feel better completely working one lift and then finishing. I already have plans for post meet which will involve multiple squat and bench sessions per week but for now this is what I feel I need to do.

So, no monolifts to be had anywhere? I feel spoiled now since the crew has 3 of them.

Way to get it done tho Al despite less than ideal squatting conditions. I think your decision to focus on the core lifts is also a good one for now. Really excited to see how this meet goes as it should be your best one ever.

Thanks Jim. I have to walk out all of my squats so monolifts aren't that good for me. I may be competing in the GPC later in the year though which I believe does allow a mono so will have to find one then.
