Thanks guys. This raw stuff hurts but it's what I need.

Had a day off work today but no rest for the wicked; spent it doing DIY and house chores including but not limited to: painting, putting up a shelf, hanging pictures, resealing the shower and clearing what we think is a rat's nest from our roof

Having deadlifted yesterday and done all of that I knew tonight was going to be tough. (Un)Luckily I had Big Pete to help me through/push me to the point of not being able to stand up or bend over because of a killer back pump!

Started with benching
Bar x lots
60kgs x 5
80kgs x 3
100kgs x 3
120kgs x 2
130kgs x 1
137.5kgs x 2
125kgs x 3, 3 with pauses on the last rep of each set

Squats (where it got really tough)
60kgs x 5
100kgs x 3
130kgs x 2
155kgs x 10, 8, 8, 4 - Goal hit. Add weight next week. Pete had to shout at me the whole time for these. Everything from 100kgs felt hard. My lower back is fried from last night's pulls and today's DIY and I felt it on every rep. Still got it done and will move up next week.

CGBP lower back was so pumped I couldn't get tight or any leg drive
82.5kgs x 10, 10, 7

Leg Press
200kgs x 10 Was meant to do 2 more sets to finish but I could barely stand up straight so I called it quits.

Brutal session but good fun. Now I'm going to lie down!

Rats? Around here, there are no rats. The Province of Alberta is pretty much rat-free. If anyone sees one, they are supposed to report it. When they have the odd outbreak, they eradicate them.

At any rate, warrior like effort to get it done. Will you be doing squats the next day after deads every week? Just wondering what your take on lower back recovery time is.

I normally have an extra day but events conspired against me on Tuesday so I did these two back-to-back. Normally I get a day to recover and I'm sat on my backside in the office so it's less of an issue
