Decent session tonight. Was a little worried about how my hip would hold up but I warmed up slowly and it felt fine throughout. Worked up in triples where I normally do singles this made the whole session a bit more challenging but will ultimately help me groove my form. Last triple was 207.5kgs and tonight's was more comfortable I think. Worked on pulling the bar back more and keeping my head more neutral. I also widened my stance a bit. The whole thing felt stronger but there's still plenty of work to be done. I need to stop loosening the arms at the start of the pull amongst other things but would welcome all other (positive or negative) feedback.

Chose to do more back off sets rather than the block pulls. I really want to grease the form groove and more sets will help. Pull ups were stronger again. Strength is really coming back here. Managed to use a short mini band to attach two 2.5kgs plates to the heaviest dumbell in the gym to get some more progress on the rows. Really want to get these up to über weights so this is a step in the right direction.


Back in on Thursday for heavy bench (currently thinking triples) and some squat reps. This will be the real test for my hip: arching and squatting. More rehab first though...

Good work Al! Keep working on getting that chest up. You're strong as f**k, but your chest is in the dirt on your pulls. Obviously take that with a grain of salt as I am even worse than you!! But I truly believe we have the same problem and if we shift more junk behind the bar at the start, we will finish better.

That's what I'm trying to do anyway. Cheers.
