Just ordered my first preworkout ever, C4.. planning on giving it a try on 1+ weeks only.
Probably will be giving it a try before then though, hopefully it's not too addictive.

Not going to lie, I'm itching to try a new program like Smolov Jr, Jugger, Cube, Sheiko..

So many programs! So much fun to be had!

I'll resist though, gotta stay the course.. I'll do funky things on days off and stay focus on training days.

No wonder people fall off the wagon and change their routines every couple weeks.. always a new program, a new trend/fad.. ugh.

One thing I remembered by reading a thread about 5/3/1.. I don't have to stick to a 5/10lbs increase.. so I may start playing with that.
I think being a noob we could progress a bit faster than that for some of the lifts.. I'll have to reassess after this cycle since it's already tweaked enough.

This week's deload week and we've tried a few new exercises.

Tonight we tried top-half pin squats.. we managed to go up to 405lbs..

Our usual work sets are 225 for myself, 250-ish for my buddy.

Quite interesting to be under so much weight lol.. even more awesome is to lift it even if it's just half a squat!

C3W1D1
Military Press 5x90/5x100/6x115
Military Press 10x60/10x75/10x85
Arnold Press 5x10-15 w/ 30lbs
Face Pulls 5x10-15 w/ 65lbs

First time doing Arnold Press and Face Pulls, went pretty well, need to check Face Pulls technique.

C3W1D2
Deadlift 5x215/5x250/8x285
Deadlift 10x150/10x180/10x210
Lat Pulldown 5x10-15 w/ 135lbs
T-Bar Rows 5x10-15 w/ 45lbs rack plus 25lbs plate

Happy with the deadlifts, back to using sumo stance for heavy work.
We supersetted the pulldowns and rows to speed up the session!

C3W1D3
Bench Press 5x145/5x165/5x190
Bench Press (Slingshot) 6x185/6x195/6x210
DB Chest Press 5x10-15 w/ 60lbs
Push-ups 5x10-15

Didn't have a spot for bench, so I stopped at 5 reps..
Push-ups are a nice finisher heh

C3W1D4
Squat 5x170/5x195/6x225
Squat 10x115/10x135/10x160
Top-half Pin Squats 5x10 w/ 275lbs
Stiff-leg Deadlifts 5x10 w/ 135lbs

Those top-half pin squats are rough..
And doing stiff-leg deads after tested my mental toughness, had to grind it out..

Throughout the week, I did kettlebell swings and snatches for cardio..
I'm just not in the mood for running lately, I love single-arm KB swings.

Last night I was watching Dan Green videos and had an itch to scratch...
So I hit the gym at midnight, and pushed myself, hit a new sumo deadlift PR of 325lbs (20lbs increase).
Was f* happy about it.. what a rush too, had to grind it up, grip was strong, so that helped a lot.

Anyways, I'm thinking of these numbers for goals for 2013:

Squat: 315lbs
Deadlift: 405lbs
Bench: 225lbs
OHP: 135lbs (my weakest lift)

I've got a plan for June, to increase my squat dramatically.. more to follow on that

Military Press 10x75/10x85/10x100
Arnold Press 5x10-15 w/ 35lbs
Face Pulls 5x10-15 w/ 75lbs

There's a clicking in my left shoulder, no pain, but feels like something is pinched..
Strenght and ROM is there, not sure what the problem is..
I'll keep pushing until something hurts, this is why I switched to arnold presses and face pulls, work the "whole" shoulder.

New PR by 1 rep on 120lbs for OHP.. form is getting better, using my lats as a shelf. (now that I have some)

C3W2D2
Sumo Deadlift 3x235/3x265/3x300
Convy Deadlift 8x180/8x210

Rough session. A lot of interruptions from "co-workers" ..
Basically, we called the session after the deadlifts, just wasn't our day.

Will probably go back tomorrow and do some pull-ups and t-rows.
Also going to coach my partner the sumo deadlift, since we can't seem to fix his convy form for now.. enough playing around.
I'll have him practice conventional on warm-ups like I do rather than on heavy sets.
