The goal is to hit an over-warm-up and then hit increasingly heavy triples to a new PR. I had good luck with triples the last time I hit a PR but I just can't train that way year-round, the back gives me fits.

I have also read once that sprints are an awesome exercise for the abs/core.

It was early. I had to pick my son up from a Boy Scout overnight and we went right out to run. Sprints good for abs? Couldn't tell you until I can actually see them I can tell you that they seem to be good for hamstrings.
