Crappy Squat Day. . .

Squats (warm-ups)
170 lbs x 5
215 lbs x 4
255 lbs x 3
315 lbs x 2
360 lbs x 1 (felt like a ton of bricks )

Squats (work sets)
295 lbs x 1 (FRAK ME!)

Low Rack Pulls
255 lbs x 8
315 lbs x 8
360 lbs x 8

Barbell Shrugs
255 lbs x 8
255 lbs x 8
255 lbs x 8

Notes:
That was a pretty messed up squat day! The 360 lbs felt like a ton of bricks and even though it went up fast enough, it just didn't feel light and crisp. The 295 lb working sets were NOT going to happen. My quads were weak and shaky and the plates were rattling like thunder. It just wasn't my day to squat so I threw in the towel on them. But my back still felt strong, so I hammered it with some low rack pulls. Finished it all off with shrugs and went inside and licked my wounds. I probably needed an extra day of rest after that big bench day.

I guess they can't all be gold.

Went and took a little nap and then -

295 lbs x 12

Notes:
I was PISSED after the earlier session. Went and took a little nap and woke up with fire in my belly. Marched right back out to the gym and smoked that 360 lbs just like I should. Then I repped out the 295 lbs, only got 12 reps, but that's a damned sight better than the earlier session. I am happy now

Wow - don't think I have ever seen that done before in all my years of reading journals. I reckon you should always take a nap before lifting now! Not sure how well you slept tho with the crappy session obviously causing brain trauma.
