Nice session. Felt a bit 'hungover' from sundays big efforts but still moved decent. I tend to find stuff dosn't always move that well on the first session of the week.

I shot myself in the foot with be squats by deciding to play with hand grip and eblows poss this session. Went thumbless whilst trying to hold elbows up and back. Felt fine warming up but when I entered 80% territory felt a bit unsure. 205x3 really wanted 205x5 but didn't feel confident with the tech and stopped at 3. As I was feeling a little jaded I took my medicine and did my down work as planned. Squats will simply be a top set followed by down work. Adding 5kg each session. Sunday will be 210kg. Down work will vary. Thurs will be lighter side. Sundays bit heavier but less volume.

Bench was just a little work as a feeder session for toms slightly heavier work. Felt a little tired ands clunk but job done.

Deadlifts moved suprsingly well. Felt tired but did what I planned to do. Dd first set hook the last 2 straps on.

So tomorrow will be heaver benching. Some lighter deads and if I get time some light squats. Or poss a daily max. Fridays sessions have a time limit so my partner can get off to crossfit whilst I look after our son. We do it this on thurs too but she has a later class then so time isn't a problem really. Sunday will be hardest session this week with top sets of 210/140/240 respectivley IIRC

Nice work! Hooking 500+ is hench.

I don't like thumbless grip on squats either. Never felt right.

Thanks Mike. I was doing the whole Rippetoe thing. Tryed it ages ago, and never clicked and happened to watch one of his vids again today. In all fariness one session isn't really a good test of anything, but don't think I'll be coming back to that one soon. I did my down work in my normal fashion and it felt much nicer

lol @ hench. Last school I worked at was constantly called that, or asked about it. 'Sir you well hench?' or 'Sir are you hench?'. I work in a girls school now and don't have that problem now!

Nice session. Main focus was to get some good benching in at 130.. and I did.

Got to gym at a good time so first I slipped in a quick daily max block of work. Felt tired but tech felt good.

Benching moved very well. So well infact that on the first set of 130 I had a brain meltdown and thought I hadn't added the 10kg to get from 120-130!! I racked it at 3 reps, only to have another brain wave that told me 'yes you had put that weight on Iain you stupid fucker'. Quickly unracked and just got last 2 reps in. Bit annoyed with myself for mental fuck up! Made the set much harder than it would have been. However still good. Made another set of 5 then finished with a tripple but with pauses. Sunday will be 135kg for 4s.

Finished with a little pulling to grease the grove and done.
