Good tips there on the squat!

I like your approach to all this and I think it will help you go a long way. It says a lot about your character.

Rock on, buddy! Keep those shoulders back into the bar!

Between reps 9-12 on all exercises is when things get sticky but I'm learning to concentrate better and my form is much better on squats now, even when tired which is positive. Focusing on each individual rep is something new for me but it will undoubtedly yield dividends. Before, there would be sets and reps that were half-assed, not anymore.

I also used a slightly narrower grip for bench and didn't tuck the elbows as much as before.

SLDL 52.5kg - 3 x 12
Squats 52.5kg - 3 x 12
Bench 42.5kg - 3 x 12
Rows 32.5kg - 3 x 12
OHP 22.5kg - 3 x 12
Chins B/W - 5, 5, 5 = 15 reps

I also do some push ups, sit ups and bodyweight squats on days off. I hit a set of all 3 together and do 5 sets of each. Nothing major, just something to get me moving since I work at a computer all day! I also walk for 30+ minutes too and use the ab wheel at home. I tend to do this mini session just to take a break from work and I feel great afterwards.
And that,is how its done

Cheers Mike. Yep, the ego must be kicked aside. It isn't actually that hard since I wasn't strong to begin with

I began editing it but suddenly, work has taken a turn for the better. I'm extremely rushed and working like crazy, it's now at the point where I need to work weekends again to catch up! I'm not complaining though, it's all $!
I looked at quotes for a pro editor to tidy it up/point out plot flaws etc. and it is VERY expensive. Do you do that kind of work perchance?

Today's 'Love Day' Session

Squat 55kg - 3 x 12
SLDL 55kg - 3 x 12
BB Row 35kg - 3 x 12
Bench Press 45kg - 3 x 12
OHP 25kg - 3 x 12
Chins B/W - 6, 6, 4 (16 rep total)

Very decent session, can definitely add another little bit to the bar on each. The SLDL feels especially comfortable.

Good to see you so diligently working on form Kuyt!. The cool thing is is that it takes an average of 40 years to perfect squat technique!

I could do it on the side. I had to read my book 7 times. You have PDF format available?

It's not strong work at all Ravi! But it's important work nonetheless which is better

Awesome, only 35+ years to go Thanks Jim.

I'll PM you Steve.

Squats 57.5kg - 3 x 12
SLDL 57.5kg - 3 x 12
Bench 47.5kg - 3 x 12
BB Row 37.5kg - 3 x 12
OHP 27.5kg - 3 x 12
Chins* 6, 6, 5 - I did these between exercises like a big 'ol cheat!

Recovery between sets is improving a wee bit and I'm getting slightly better at in-between reps breathing. Form was good so I'm comfortable adding 2.5kg again. This takes me to where I ill-advisedly started my first session less than 2 weeks ago. Interesting to see how the next session compares.

Since I've stopped trying to lose weight, I've been enjoying my grub a bit more, eating some naughty foods and...
I continue to drop weight (and I am not complaining) This morning I was 180.6 pounds, 2 pounds lower than at any time during my weight loss phase and it has been more or less at 182 or thereabouts for a month. Those mini bodyweight and walking/jogging sessions on my day off have doubtless helped. This is very good news as the lighter/slimmer I am, the better when it eventually comes to gaining strength down the road.

Good.

Just focus on good healthy foods, meats, vegetables, protein shakes and milk. Don't force anything, don't start eating any crap either.

Don't think in terms of bulking/cutting.
