Thanks Super Jim. Still a struggle but one I'm fully in control of.

Thanks Lee. Absolutely right. It's always worth going in and doing the warm ups at least. You'll often feel better.

Thanks Alan. I love the fact the rack is rarely used. I go in at specific times when I know it is quiet.

Didn't realise it but this is actually week 9 of this training log. Time flies, only another 95 or so weeks before I get to a decent level of strength
For squats, 95kg single felt heavy on my back. Did 120kg and 140kg walkouts (1 x 30 seconds of each) after the squat sets because I want to get used to having decent weight on my back.
Fazc recommends the over warm up single; this is something also advocated by Paul Carter from Lift Run Bang and it seems to be effective. 60kg felt heavy on my back warming up. Then 80kg was also heavy. When I did the 95kg single and went back down, 77.5kg felt lighter than 60kg did a couple of minutes previously!

Squats 95kg x 1; 77.5kg x 12 - Not easy but making the reps
Chins - 1 x 10
Bench - 85kg x 1; 70 x 12 - Reps to spare
SLDL - 105kg x 1; 90kg x 12 - Lots to spare
OHP - 50kg x 1; 40kg x 12
Rows - 55kg x 12 - Not easy but made the reps.

Good stuff, Kuyt. I'm a big fan of the single, then back off sets too. Fazc knows his stuff and you are putting in the work. Haha, probably won't take 95 weeks to get where you want to go.

I put my money on you getting there before Liverpool wins another trophy for example.

Thanks Lee. Chins are a crapshoot. Some days I can do 9-10, other days 6 is a struggle. A good little trick is to tell yourself you're getting 10-12 and count down from there, I find you get a couple more reps that way.

Thanks Jen. Imagine the sessions when I was doing 3 x 12 for each

The body is a strange thing. I normally feel like turd and end up doing a decent session. Today was completely the opposite.
Enthusiasm has returned in the last week or two, I was looking forward to today. Sleep has been better, nutrition has improved and training is pleasurable rather than a chore.
Slept well last night, had a good breakfast, warmed up well and felt pretty good going in.

Then I did squat warm ups and things started going awry. My legs were very sore even with empty bar squats. I did some warm up sets and the bar felt a ton on my back. Tried to fool the body with heavy walk outs and expected the lighter weight to feel, well light! Yet 75kg felt the same as 140kg on my back and I barely made 2 reps and my inner thighs felt sore during the reps which is unusual.

Decided to bench to get rust off but all weights felt heavy. At this point, I elected to do some cursory machine work and again, it all felt unusually heavy. Not sure what the hell happened today but unlike before, I'm not going to sweat it.

Light speed session Tuesday and I'll be ready to have a good session on Thursday.

It can be maddening, can't it? It is so odd how this happens -- but, the good news is, you can chalk it up to "one of those days". File it away -- then come back and smash when you feel like poo! Lol

Training when you don't want to train = winning! Thats why you rock Kuyt!

Crazy, isn't it? Over time I learned to ignore how I feel.
