Think I did ok overall, they were a lot different than regular stance Squats. Not sure if I liked them better or felt stronger with them or not? My thinking was my switch from Conventional Deadlifts to Sumo made a great improvement, I'm hoping for the same, mabey???
New Lift so all default PRs, haha. Based on narrow stance 325x 1RM(although that might not have even counted, so whatever I don't care, I have weak legs!)

Done! My legs were still sore as they have been for 2-3 weeks straight! And now I'm crippled!

Those are pretty good. I think you need to be more direct with the walk out. Too many steps, to much moving, will cost you as you get more near 100%. I would like to see you keep your head neutral during the walk out. Take a peak at your feet at the end, but other than that you dont want to look down much. As far as the squat itself goes, I would look to keep a little more arch in my back. without being able to see your hips, it looks to be right at depth. With a wide stance it will be hard to get much deeper unless the wife helps you out with some hip flexibility. Kind of looked like you leaned to the right on a few of the reps, look back at it and tell me what you think.

Thanks JB! Understood about the walkout being too much, and I'll work on not looking down. Think depth was good, 265 might have been questionable, but I think it was ok, I've seen much higher called good at meets(not that I'm competing). Not sure what you mean about the leaning to be honest. I don't really see that and I didn't feel it during the lifts. Not staying your wrong I just don't see it.
Thanks for your help, appreciate it!

Go the the :45/46 mark in the 265 video. I think at that point you should be trying to open the knees up just a little more.

Go to the :42 mark of the 245 video, left knee comes in just a hair and causes you to put more weight on the right leg. You correct it fast, but I think its doing it each time right at depth. This is why you got to open the knees up just a bit more right before depth.

Hope that helps some. Its a great start, and the wider stance fits you well. Keep at it, make those legs grow!!!

Thanks JB! I'll try to remember to vid directly from the front next time and maybe one from the side, hopefully to make seeing things easier. Also might put a light back in the center of the room, if I can remember not to walk into it again like last time . I've got lots to improve on, but I hope that your right as far as the wider stance fitting me . All about getting bigger legs

Nice work there man. I wouldn't have called that a sumo squat myself. I take that stance as normal. I would think sumo would be ultra wide? Either way nice work on your prs fella!

Thanks Tom! Well it's far wider than my normal squat and very close to the stance it take for Sumo deads, but whatever

I can't remember who told me this, could be the crew or someone here, but I was once told to not change your squat stance drastically at once but to gradually change it over a few weeks. Props to you tho for experimenting with the stance. The only time I have seen people squat very wide is when they are wearing gear. I think tho that once you find that perfect stance for you, it will help alot with your overall squat. I have found my perfect stance, but now it's just a matter of repetition so that my body automatically goes there when I step back.

I agree of course with JB on the walk out. It's a good idea to learn to set up quickly and efficiently, as it is with deads.

Good job once again buddy!

Thanks Super Jim! Well I asked JB and btb about changing and they said go slow, maybe 75% and give it a try. Think JB said add it as accessory work for a few sets. As you can see I didn't listen well . I wasn't really wide, but I can only go out a little more do to my rack width, but also not sure if I could go wider! It's not like I can do the splits ! But I didn't have any problems, and don't believe I did any worse than narrow stance squats. And whether JB was just being nice, or he saw or noticed something, he said they "fit me", that's gotta be good . Obviously I have lots to work on, either with wide or if I go back to narrow stance. But I'll keep working either way
