Thanks Super Jim! Yea, honestly I was thinking I'd go that way for the meet. This was dumb thinking, and btb, brute, cutty, maybe a few others set me straight that o/u is the way to go when not using straps. I was really bummed and thought my grip was bad or I had an off day. But when btb said he can't pull double oh past 315, I was really relieved.
With the bench I know . I read the UPA rules and reasons for disqualification. I don't have much cushioning on my body and I will not let that keep me from getting credit for a lift(hopefully) . Got lots to learn though, making sure I pause long enough, keep myself from racking right away. Have to remember and try and do that on every single set for squats and bench from now til the meet so it becomes second nature. Right now it's not .

315x 1 ...vid, no versa grips, only chalk. Just wanted to see how I'd do without grips since I haven't pulled that way in awhile. Kinda dissappointed as it felt like it was super heavy in my hands and seemed like I had zero grip strength! Doesn't give me much confidence in pulling mid 4s or more . Once again not exactly light work as I had only planned on doing sets at 225 and no higher.

Crazy how even a split second of pausing on the bench press makes it so much more difficult, I had knock off a good 20lbs when making the change

Yea, I knew I'd lose some doing pause, just hope I can still get close to my PR, 225 was just my thoughts on an opener.
