Vids looked real good. Great explosiveness on start, and getting the slack out. Strong lockouts. There was one rep out of all of them where form broke just a lil. Good effort. When I pull sumo I do how Dan green does, drop my balls on the bar while getting several breaths of the biggest air I can. Consequently, I can only pull once.

Some of your explosiveness with the 355 looked like it came from arm and back movement. I wouldn't say it's wrong, it's just a little riskier.

395 looked much better/more controlled.

395+ chains is just ridiculous! In a good way.
I felt that on the 355 good thing it was light or that might of created a problem. Changed some of the planned reps up, triples are all I'm good for doing them this way. lol Wasn't quite as explosive as I was after.
Thanks JD

I've watched Dan's setup many times. Trying to apply his techniques to my mechanic's. See a big payoff several months from now when the body has adapted to pulling explosive off the floor, where I'm weakest. I don't see deficits as an option for sumo's as they shift the emphasis too much for my mechanic's.
I forgot the big air also forgot to tighten my abs & lats on that one rep. Working on flexibility with my hips so they can open up more.(I'm as flexible as frozen steel)
It was hard performing triples and trying to hit all the form details. It will come just need many sessions till it becomes second nature.

Thanks Fen

Put "explosive" in context...

As of the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics, the official world record for the Men's Clean and Jerk, in the 105kg+ category, is 263.5 kilograms (581 lb).
This record was set by Hossein Rezazadeh of Iran. (Wiki)

Pulling 355 or more "very fast" is entry level Olympic lifting...
You and I just want to get it off the floor... a little slower will do just fine!

Excellent comparison.
Thats the speed I was looking for on pulls.

Solid pulling. Form looks tight. Love seeing those hips pop forward and that head drive back.

Appreciate you taking the time to review my Pulls BtB.
Sore in just the right places after that session, lower back has zero fatigue.

Benching today, can't wait.

Thanks Mike
No, Rudy made the shirt for 450, I was around 425-435 in my Ragex at the time this shirt was made. Put my middle finger on the ring for one rep that I didn't record, it was ridiculous about a 2 bd away from touching at a dead stop.
Last set the single I moved my pinky's in about an inch or so from the outer rings and tucked my elbows hard got me close.
Being that close with such a light weight I can see touching with 400 in a few weeks with that hand position.
