So I apologize I haven't updated lately, many of you don't know, but I'm having to relocate back to Indiana from Oregon unexpectedly and it's kind of hit me to the core. I've been training hard and I have a lot of logs I'm about to update. Tomorrow will be my last day at this gym and I would love to be in the gym sometime next week at my old gym, we will see.

Let me look back at what logs I need to update.

Looks like I need to do Wed. 4/3/2013

Wed:
Deadlifts @ 335, 5 sets 25 rep goal: 5, 5, 5, 5, 10 - still throttling the deadlifts. Soon the weight is going to get where I'm going to be lucky to get 25 reps so I'm going to step that up. I'm pulling full force I just could have gone 10+ reps my first set. I'm still working on form and it's getting snappier.

Mil Press @ 120, 5 sets 25 rep goal: 8, 6, 5, 5, 8 - I didn't throttle much here, kind of went all out and some reason I really pulled out the last set. I think I'm forgetting to keep upper back tight and the bar is drifting forward.

Face Pulls - 80, 80, 80 x 12

So far I like this rep goal system, once I get to Indiana the gym is set up a little different and I'll incorporate squats and I'll add in some T Bar Rows and maybe some assisted pull ups. The machine there is old school and you stand on a bar, I'll get pics of the set up there. I really had luck with the dips there too I will test waters again, it's been a while and I miss the place.

Close Grip Bench - 135, 155, 175, 185 x 8
Seated Close Grip Rows - 150, 170, 200, 220 x 8 - Got real mad towards the end.
Face Pulls - 90, 90, 90 x 12

Straight Leg Deadlift - 185x8, 185x8, 225x8 - Once again, throttled but still toasted my hamstrings. I used to do 315x12 at old gym, I think getting back to my "roots" will help a little bit.

Hack Squat - 4 plates (total) x 8, 2 plates (total) x 8, 2 plates (total) x 8. Some reason I just can't press well on this machine. The old gym has an old school hack squat I'll use that I could do 8 plates and 2 25s total and, was hard but I could do it.

Here's a picture for proof.

Leg Press - 6 plates (total), 10 plates (total), 14 plates (total) x 8. - These reps were fully compressed 'feels-like-my-head-is-exploding' full range of motion leg presses. Not this half rep bull crap, I could do full machine that way.

Keep strong my friends.

Mon 4/8/2013

So I've met these powerlifters in the gym a while ago and they usually get to the gym at 10am, I usually like to get there around 8-8:30. Well I've been side spotting them and haven't been leaving until 12 or so and they always invite me to come in when they did.

I came in when they did today and benched, they helped me stay tight, call cues and gave me a proper liftoff (not used to actually a good lift off and proper setting). They were sad to hear that I'm moving and one of the guys said they thought I would get along with the crew and he's sad to see me leave.

So here's my epic day at the gym:

Bench @ 215 5 sets 25 rep goal: 8, 8, 8, 7, 6.5 (The last rep I got off my chest, it stopped and he had to lightly help.. I don't count it so technically 6 reps) Needless to say the spotting and the cues helped. They noticed the further along I go in the set I hit higher (shoulder problem still), once they called the cues, I was hitting lower and stayed tight, was really happy with progress there.

BB Rows @ 215, 5 sets, 25 rep goal: 6, 6, 8, 8, 6. I gave it all I had ensuring I kept decent form, I could have lower backed a couple more. The reason I had 2 sets of 8 mid set is there is a gymnastic girl dancing by me doing splits and everything else that raises testosterone. I told myself that I'll never get a girl like that and made me pretty mad.. I ended up doing those 8 pretty easy, I stopped because I started to see stars.

Chest Press - 70, 70, 70 x 12

Face Pulls 90, 90, 90 x 12

Tri Ext 70, 70, 70 x 12

I kept face pulls the same weight because I am trying to make sure I get good quality reps, I could have gone up a little more but I felt that the exercise was being performed properly at this weight, as well as tri ext. I try to keep my ego checked at the door, it doesn't always help to 'move more weight' if it's not even doing it right.

Tomorrow is my last day there, I am going to go in around 10 when my PL buddy is there. He said he will be using his deadlift bar so I will get to see what a real deadlift bar is. I'm not going to do anything particular tomorrow, just going to go in and try the bar out.. maybe see what type of number I can pull with it, nothing fancy.

Kind of enjoy the last day there and break the code and talk a little more

Break the code? You're not cracking Russian launch codes there 007! You're just hanging with your boys and shooting the sh*t. You shouldda been doing that since day 1. Haha.

Good stuff Cutty, keep the momentum going in Hoosierville.
