I'll agree the 20repper is brutal , irrespective of weight on the bar, believe me it's stealthcardio!!

OHP, not so much will be happy when I have 90kg (bodyweight) for 5*5

Thanks OR, have hit a purple patch alright so time to milk it!
Kids sleeping better and am now used to the fasted training that comes with intermittent fasting, so that means rest and refueling are much better these days

.... Thankfully!

A 600 total or bust Jim!
That would be cool to have "superJim" make a cameo in my gym. If you ever come to Ireland we gotta make that happen

Deadlift VGs and DOH - no belt
60kg x 8
80kg x 5
100kg x 2
140kg x 5 4sets
made an on the fly call today to do sumo only on monday and friday and normal deadlift on a wednesday.
also cut back a set to 4 sets in an effort to get all work in.

OHP
40kg x 8
60kg x 5
80kg x 5 5sets
put these in second this week and was more pleased. nice pause at the bottom of the press(on chest) and also working a bit at the lockout and getting the head pushed out under the bar.

Paused Squats
60kg x 8
90kg x 5
110kg x 2
125kg x 1
add belt
140kg x 3 3sets
20 Rep Squat
97.5kg x 20

paused squats are as high as i have gone before, will start to add 5lbs a week now.
20 repper was brutal. still 2 big wheels a side next week thank you very much.
not too shoddy at 90kg bodyweight

Notes
all done in 50mins again. so happy with the Wednesday layout for the next few weeks.
pull ups and abs got the today... ,no time for them , in fairness no energy for them either!
Doing great Alan ... 600 is not far away if you have some patience ...
keep smashing the wts. buddy ...

The Road to 600
14 June 2013

Squat
60kg x 8
90kg x 5
110kg x 2
120kg x 1
130kg x 5 5sets
These should have been at 127.5kg but I was too lazy today and just took the easy loading option

Paused CGBP
60kg x 8
80kg x 5
100kg x 2
110kg x 3 6sets

Paused Sumo Deadlift
60kg x 8
90kg x 5
110kg x 5 5sets
Haven't tried these before so it was pretty light - will build up over the next few weeks

Notes
Run of the mill session, nothing exciting to report.
move along!

25 total resp at 286 lbs for 5 sets is pretty decent in my book, especially if you buried them like I know you can. Well done Alan!

cheers for the much needed encouragement gents...

The Road to 600
17 June 2013

Squat
60kg x 8
90kg x 5
110kg x 2
130kg x 1
135kg x 5 – 5sets

Paused RAM Bench
60kg x 8
90kg x 5
100kg x 2
115kg x 5 – 5sets

Sumo Deadlift
60kg x 8
80kg x 5
100kg x 2
140kg x 5 – 3sets
starting to like these....

Pull Ups
BW+10kg x 3 – 8sets
did these throughout the session

Notes
Man that was tough, was later than usual getting in and all the Monday bench bros had the racks taken up so had to start with deads and finish with squats.
Not what I planned today. But all work got done. That’s the main thing.

Think conditioning is getting a bit better too as I get used to these 50minute sessions.
Wasn’t feeling like I was about to drop every two seconds today. That too could be down to the revised schedule.
We will see!
