LOL! He wants to deadlift the bar, not completely break it in half!

To me, from that angle, most of the advice already said here is what I would say. I'm almost certain that lockout problem is a starting position problem. Be more patient in the start position, and really get those shoulders back and either in line, or behind, with the bar (It's hard to tell from this angle, but you look forward over it). You accelerate so fast off the floor, and then BAM, you hit a wall. It doesn't seem like a weakness in strength, more so just a technique issue.

I should add that being more patient and getting your shoulders back will probably make your off the floor worse, but it will make your lockout better, so trade off.

Other than all that, great lifting man! You look pretty monstrous in these videos, too.

I think you need to work on flexing the bar more before you start the pull. Not getting much flex in it before you start off the floor. Other than that hips! But again I suck on the deadlift haha.

Essentially pull the slack out? That will really help him get his shoulders behind the bar, as well.

The Road to 600
28 May 2013

Bench Press Max Test Day
60kg x 8
80kg x 6
90kg x 3
105kg x 1
115kg x 1
130kg x 1
137.5kg x 1
140kg x 1
142.5kg x 1PB

Much happier today , for obvious reasons.
At the nationals in march I benched 130kgs , but previously in the gym I have managed 135kgs(at 105kgs bodyweight) so really happy to get that 142.5kgs out at 93.5kgs (weighed in this morning)
Tried to incorporate most of the helpful pointers from you fellas from my last bench video…think it did help with tightness at the bottom, that said – I could do with getting a lot tighter, something to work on.
Little wobble on the lockout so not sure if I would get three lights in a meet – but I am banking it!!

Video below of the top lifts,
Weights are 137.5kg / 302lbs , then 140kg / 308lbs and finally the 142.5kg / 313.5lb lift.

Will take tomorrow off and then most likely test squats on Thursday…… or maybe Friday!

Great press PB, and I think the lift would be 3 white light worthy.
