Ive had that moment of clarity where I realize what I'm doing isn't working.
Pressing and joker sets don't work for ME personally. I think its too much weight too often and I'm peddling backwards on progress.

OK so I started out strong. I told myself I feel great I'm going to press a house today! Chins were great, full ROM felt strong!
Top work set is -2 reps from last week. Wtf. First joker set barely budged, a weight I know I can press. Push press very taxing on legs and hips after squatting big on Tuesday. I quit. Gonna do rep work. Get great pump, feel big, feel good about new press plan which is just older press plan. Lastly try delt lateral raises with a db in your bent arm. These feel fantastic!

Great work Fen! I know your pissed about dropping some reps, but don't be! All the PRs your setting and you don't get it or lose a little on one lift, no biggie! Next week no squat/dead PR will = a press PR(not saying don't try )! Hard to gain like a maniac on ever freaking lift every week, although you're real close ! Smash on!!!

Im not pissed. I just want to listen to my body and adjust. I have a little birdy telling me to stop joker sets on bench too. So I'm gonna see how it goes doing top set, push press, and boring but big sets on press again.

Interesting how you did those lat raises. I couldn't do them like that - if my Bowflex DB's fall on the floor they are done - very fragile in that respect. Might try them at the crew gym tho.

Sucks about the 155.

Good that you are listening to your body and adjusting your training to suit. I found that 531 just didn't give me enough reps at the heavier sets, especially on bench. But everyone has to find out what specifically works for them.

Repping out twice is bound to take it out of you for the heavier singles. I think I'd rather hit the required reps only and then proceed to heavier weights. But still some excellent pressing and I'm sure the new tweaks to the session will bring further progress. Keep Smashing It!
