well you should still do some time off core work it will help keep you stable on the big lifts when you get to heavy weights

and no deadlift and squats are not enough core work

Occasionally I hit the evil wheel or the strict rotary torso. However, my abs get a pretty good workout from weighted chins and pullovers.
