Not crazy at all! As long as volume is kept in check. May be the meet in me, but I also enjoy doing all 3 big ones in 1 session. Good practice as well if you plan on competing.

There are always many roads to the destination!

Default 4/4/2013- Korte 3x3 week 4 day 2

Lifted after work tonight. I honestly think the thought of lifting is all that kept me going for the last hour. I was totally spaced out and going through the motions. Still kicked ass and took names, though, as always.

2.3 scoops of Juggernaut HP tonight. Gives that good energy and blood flow, yo. Infinite Labs has a winner with this stuff.

I think the word of the day at Sesame Street Hardcore Gym is "DESTROYED."

240 lbs for 8 sets of 5 on squats.
150 lbs for 8 sets of 6 on bench. RRCCWWRR. Bench has been feeling heavy this week, which is actually nice. It makes me feel like I have actually done some work.
255 lbs for 8 sets of 5 on deads. Sets 3-5 were done on a standard 45lb plate, sets 6-8 were done on a rubber 45. That deficit does a number on the grip! I was holding on with the pads of my fingers at the end.

I'm ready to start hitting those heavy doubles next week. The high volume is nice and I am glad I did the 4th week after vacation to get my body back used to everything.

Weighed myself today for the first time in about a month. The scale read 233 just like it did then. I can't tell exactly where I am losing fat, but I know I have gained size in my legs, hip, glutes, back, shoulders, triceps, and chest. I had to buy new jeans because of this and size large shirts are becoming a bit ill-fitting. I can see lats from the front, which is pretty great. I think I've got some definition going on back there. My abs are getting stronger. That's actually the main thing I feel the day after lifting. The oblique are getting bigger, for sure.

I'm still just on the see-food diet. I try to get a lot of eggs and peanut butter in during the day, then whatever my boss fixes me at night. That's the main point I get my carbs in (love that fried rice!). I don't really want to get too much above 240. I think that could be a good weight class for me to compete in, and at 243/4, I can definitely sweat off a couple pounds for weigh-ins, if I ever get up that high. I also have a family history of getting super-obese, so I'm trying to keep all that in check.

No lifting today so I can adapt it around life. Needed to get some studying done this weekend and I will be out of town Tuesday, so I will lift then hit the books tomorrow after work. I've been sleeping like a rock lately, probably from getting back on a decent schedule over holiday as well as finding 4th, 5th, and 6th ends to burn the candle from.

I was about to hop in the shower this morning when I realized that I've got chest hair higher up than I ever have before and am actually sprouting some on the upper back. I don't know if it is just my body finally getting around to it or if the lifting , bringing about an increase in testosterone, has done it. Regardless, I FEEL MANLY! YEAH! Also, maybe this is a good sign for my No-Shave adventure from August to February.

That's what I meant, Jimbo. From beginning of Fall semester (Mid-August) till my birthday (end of February), I plan on not shaving my face. My only fear is that it takes me about 5 days to get a decent 5 o' clock shadow, so the beard won't be very impressive unless something gets going right.

Default 4/8/2013- Korte 3x3 High Intensity phase. Day 1

Well, I decided to go ahead and get started on phase 2 of the Korte 3x3 program. It is nice to get out of that high volume, to be honest. I like to lift heavy stuff, so this is making me happy!

2 scoops of juggernaut hp.

Deadlifts
Lots of warmups
Set 1: Single at 315
Set 2: Double at 315 (I strayed from the program for that just cuz I felt good)

Bench
5 sets of 4 at 145 lbs.

Squats
3x3@225

Much as I enjoyed the gains and such from the volume, it was nice to hit it and quit it today. Didn't take me as long as it has been.

Tomorrow I am going with my brother, my dad, and my dad's best friend to Augusta, GA, for the practice round of the Master's Tournament. It's gonna be good fun, even though there really isn't any competition going on.
