I agree with OMP regarding getting set up to rip a bit faster, as this is what my crew wanted me to do. I think it will come naturally as you gain even more confidence in your pulling and hip position in particular.

Really happy that you found that video that made everything click for you!

Thanks Jimbo! I'm glad things are going well with you lately too. I don't know how you do it. I complain about the least little thing, and you got real problems and just soldier on. Awesome.

Thanks fellas!! Yeah, I'm feeling really confident going into this meet. We'll see. You never know. And JB, I've seen how intense you get! So, while it would be awesome to have you there, I actually think I'd be so nervous about screwwing up in front of you, I'm probably better off you're not there! Give me a few more meets, then I can handle your intensity! haha.

JBPP week 14

warmups: shoulder stuff, btw, I'm cutting this back more and more. I did this originally to ease my balky shoulder, then kept at it as preventative. But, I think it is actually adding some stress I don't need so I'm steadily cutting this back to just getting range of motion. I'm beginning to think this stuff can be overdone if it isn't actually necessary in relieving pain. Just an observatio for those of you who deal with shoulder stuff.

Bench:
3x 205
1x 225, 245, 265
1x 285 (PR, but I wanted this to be a lot smoother than it was)

Pause Bench:
4x 2x 235 (last rep was damn near all out effort! )

Seated Arnolds:
3x 10x 33DBs

First set of 235, crappy pause on first rep, did better on all the rest:

I was sick of hitting the pins on the liftoff, so lowered them one peg for this session, and while that made liftoff smoother, it was like an extra lockout effort on every rep that added up, as well as some trouble setting the bar back on the pins too. Still, I think it is the way to go moving forward, as I stay tighter from the start better. A little extra lockout practice can't hurt either!

Anyway, on the 285, I hit too high on my chest and panicked and just started manhandling it up. So, while I'm very pleased with the PR, I'm not really happy with how shitty it was.

Looking back now, maybe it wasn't that bad, but it felt bad and I know I can do better. Still, didn't miss it, and I feel good about my strength, just gotta get the form dialed in a little better.

There you go. Squats tomorrow!

strong Mike, you are right, touched a lill high and elbows got around too fast. Still, bar path gets off and you still muscled it through! Strong PR lifts as of late, going into the meet looking strong!!!!!!
