Thanks KD, it was easy weight wise. Just made it a little hard with not great form.

Uh.....I did go off the reservation a bit today though. Couldn't resist.

JBPP week 12, got my squat mojo back after that miss last week!

warmups: a lot of hip, leg and low back stuff. Just wanted to be really loose.

Squat:
3x 295
3x 1x 330

Narrow Pause Squat:
3x 5x 185
Whoa! Those were wild to do, but I kind of like them.

Bench Challenge:
225x 18
Was feeling good after the session, so just said eff it and see what happens. Didn't go very close to failure, just until they were hard and I was losing form.

First 330:
Last 330:
I was getting better as I went along. Very pleased with that.

First 5x 185 3 sec pause:
Last 5x 185 3 sec pause:

18x 225:
My legs were literally so tight by the end I was having trouble bending them! haha.

Awesome day. Love it when squats go well. There you go.

Weighed 202 this morning. Next week is a month out, so I want to be pretty close to weight limit in two weeks, then slowly lower it a bit more to make weight easily on meet day.

I remember when your bench was around 250 and your squat in the 290s. The good old days when we were almost lifting the same (before you went into overdrive like a stream train

Haha! I remember that Kuyt, it was when you weighed like 215 and I weighed 190. Now I'm 200 and you're like 180, and you can probably still deadlift more than me! I don't know about conditioning though. I was sucking wind for like 10 min after that set!

I'll tell you this though, I'm betting in a year or two we weigh about the same and lift about the same too. All roads lead to Rome in the end, buddy.

Thanks Fazc! I appreciate you noticing. I've worked really hard on figuring out squats this past year. Now, it'll be deadlifts this year.

OK, today was pretty darn easy bench day, so I went for the bench challenge.

I didn't go all out JB! And no more challenges until after the meet. My bench recovers very well, so no worries. I'll stick to the plan from here on out though. No deviations. I know I don't want to waste all the building up we've been doing.

JBPP week 12

warmups: just some band shoulder stuff

Speed Bench:
6x 3x 175 (man, I can move 175 pretty darn fast, felt that way anyway)

Bench:
10x 225

First set of 175, I do these with a pause as I don't like ballistic. I keep the bar under much better control this way:
Last set of 175, got better as I went along:
225x 10:

There you go. I really feel like superman lately. I love this program once you get past the first few weeks! I'm gonna rip up some deadlifts tomorrow! Fingers crossed of course. We'll see.
