Thanks Swede, Hunter and BtB. I love ripping stuff overhead! With more regular practice, and a better committment to getting under the bar, I can do a lot more. BW PowerSnatch one day in the future maybe.

Thanks JB. Yeah, reflecting on those presses, I'm not so down on them. They were respectable given the circumstances. I sometimes get carried away thinking I am stronger than I actually am. My press goals are to OHP my BW and push press 225 one day. I'll just keep plugging away at them.

As for the soreness issue, that is something to discuss maybe.

Doing this routine, I really notice the soreness and stiffness 2 days afterwards. So benching is a little sore the next day, but the next day after that, the triceps are really sore, and I get a little bicep tendon soreness inside my elbow that starts to bubble up too.
Same with squats, the next day is not too bad, but the day after that, my quads are like blocks of wood. It hurts just going up the stairs!

I think it's because we are really hammering away at those areas with much more focus than I've ever done before. I assumed I would adjust to this level of workload, and I have a little, but then we up the ante and I get hammered again.
The problem is exacerbated by trying to go four days in a row as I have the last two weeks, so obviously I need to space my workouts better.

That is why I want to get back to mon, tues, thurs, fri schedule as that extra day in the middle really helps in the recovery department. If Mondays continue to be an issue, I'll go tues, wed, fri, sat. I'll work it out though. No worries.

I'm just learning that recovery is pretty important on this routine where it was maybe not as hard to recover on other routines I have done.

Now, as for my hands. Holy hell, smashing thumbs on the bar and ripping callouses and blisters up was nothing compared to getting into the shower later!!! Jeeeezzzzus, I though I had stuck my hand into a bees nest! You couldda warned me about that!

Back is totally hammered today. Tomorrow should be interesting.

Very ambitious of you to add some Oly lifts into an already tough routine. Great job Mike!

I'm still thinking of taking a year long Oly Lifting course that is offered here by an actual Olympic Coach.

Do you do anything to help your recovery such as soft tissue work with a foam roller, self massage, lacrosse ball work, stretching?

Probably not enough!

I do stretching pretty religiously, lacrosse ball for back and chest works some too. I need to be better about foam rolling and doing my back yoga.

The real problem areas are triceps, quads and low back. I've never really tried foam rolling my triceps, so I should probably give that a shot. Foam rolling my quads is downright painful at first, so I sometimes talk myself out of doing that. Obviously, I need to suck it up there and get that done. I'm thinking of getting a heating pad for my low back, not sure if that is the way to go though and I never spend money unless I am sure it is a useful expense. Cheapskate, that's me!

Any tips or tricks in the recovery department wouldn't go amiss, though! Let me know if I should be doing something else.

Do you take any BCAAs? I'm guessing you do, but if not that's a worth while recovery aid
