No wonder you are happy as a clam Nick - 255 X12 is f'in awesome anytime, let alone for back off work. Great selection of lifts as well.

Any meets coming up this Spring?

3/17/13: Paused Bench 5-rep week

Shoulder health circuit: 2.5 x 10, 8

Red Band PAs (between bench sets): 8 x 8

Flat Bench (Paused)
45x15x2
95x8
120x5
145x5
155x5
180x5
200x1
225x1
200x5 -> MAYBE half were paused; pretty pi$$ed granted I did take a week off
200x4 + 1 -> all of these reps were paused, but I brought in my grip indiciating that my shoulders are in fact my glaring weakness
175 x 11.5 (touch and go)

CSR: 75 x 5 x 12 -> +5lbs over last week; felt super explosive

Seated DB Arnolds (lower back supported): 30 x 5 x 10

Pronated Pus: bw x 10, 10, 10, 9, 8

DB Neutral Grip Inc Bench: 40 x 15, 11, 9 -> I think I was performing them incorrectly until today

LF Seated Rev Fly: 70 x 27, 22, 20

Precor Rope Tri Pushdown: 70 x 15, 15, 15

BBC: 60 x 15, 12, 7

Solid benching Nick - are you doing or going to be doing alot more paused work nowadays?

Didn't realize it was Spring Break already - maybe because it is still wintering here.

I hit 5 reps on top set after a week off also. It gets better.

Well I've been performing paused bench on 5/3/1 for all the working sets since I restarted 5/3/1 a few cycles back. The only sets that hae been touch and go are warm-up (under 60%) and back-off sets.

Thanks fen - that's reassuring to hear.

I'm debating switching to either touch and go for the top set based on 5/3/1 progression or switching to the Strong-15 bench layout according to Lift Run Bang. Thoughts?

sadly rob, no PB of +1. The +1 indicates essentially a rest pause -> I had to re-rack the weight, take a few seconds rest then power through that 5th rep.
