I was kidding [mostly]. I'd hate for the 20 rep deads to derail your progress.

You could do a 20 rep set as a back-off set though, maybe as a change-of-pace thing once a month or so. That wouldn't kill you at least. If you were going to do a real program of 20 rep deads, the rest of your routine would have to be ultra-abbreviated to survive it. When I did a cycle of 20 rep deads, the rest of my routine consisted of bar dips and curls only. Even that was tough to get through.

yeah that sounds a better idea about the back off set.

i'm thinking keeping to the reg park style of ramping to one heavy set of 5 then may be drop the weight say to 70% of max work weight then do one back off set of as many reps as i can to get some rep work on the deadlift.

what do you think off road.
