Yeah, heavy dumbells can be a bitch to manage. May I suggest using rack chins to build up some strength for pullups? Tried them for the first time last night and they feel more like lat pulldowns. Felt in my back more I ever did pullups.

Nice work on the workout there, mate.

What's up with all those *7 and **7 kg weights though?! Nothing wrong with the numbers per se; just haven't seen that before, with kilos (seen all kinds of bizarre numbers with pounds of course).

By the way, when I started, I couldn't even do a single chinup. So I turned to band-assisted chinups and pullups for a while (luckily, one of the gym managers happened to have one of these that I could borrow). There's always a way to get used to tricky exercises, but I think in your case it's just going to be doing lots of them, and fairly often would be the go (IMO).

i train at home and dont have a rack so it is going to be a case of just building my reps up.

the odd 7kg is the weight of the bar, i fined chin ups easy compard to pullups a few years ago i could do 3x20 chins no problem and one armed chins for sets of 5, i never enjoyed pullups so it jus a matter of building up the reps or i will just do chins or heavy DB rows not a problem really.
