No I missed it. Our little one has pneumonia and I've been out of it myself.

Headed over to take a look.

I know what you mean ripper.....you never want to be in the position where you can't help them. It's supposed to be our job as parents to fix everything for them and when we can't it just rips your heart out.

I'm really living up to the title of this log.

As much as I want to post and be an active member and continue to support the forum, it's nearly impossible right. I do check in so don't think I don't care about you peeps here. My priority is going to be making sure my wife recovers fully, taking care of my family, work then gym, diet and training. Some of you know because we're friends on Facebook, some of you don't and some of you are probably thinking who is this guy?

Two weeks ago to the day we found out my wife has stage 3 breast cancer, triple positive and the her2 gene. Needless to say it's a very aggressive form. She had a mamo in April, thought they saw something, called her back and said it was nothing! Come early August my wife thought this just isn't right? Went back and the same douche says he isn't seeing what we are seeing, REALLY! It's poking out of the side of her breast! So we go to a specialist and within two days we were told it's cancer. One week later she has her port put in for her chemo treatments. And tomorrow she gets her first treatment of chemo. Chemo will last 5 months, then surgery, then 6 weeks- 5 days a week of radiation treatment.

I just felt I needed to explain my absence as I used to be a big part of this forum and I miss it every day. So please send your prayers, thoughts and wishes our way for a speedy recovery and the strength to pull through this.

Robert

Trust me when I say I think of you and this forum every day. Every time I think I have minute to post I get side tracked. My wife is doing ok and the doctors are guesstimating a near 75% reduction in tumor size before her 4th treatment. Halloween she starts her weekly chemo treatments for 12 weeks then we assess the surgery. After surgery it's 5 days a week for 6 weeks of radiation. So things are going as good as they can in our situation at the moment. On the 11th of November there is a benefit for my wife to help raise money for our hospital bills, co-pays and gas to get to and from the hospital which is 45 minutes away. So please continue to pray for her.

So my diet has strayed some but nothing horrible, but definitely not what I want for myself. My training has been all over the place as well. This past week I got 3 days of lifting in and 3 cardio sessions, and it felt great mentally to be doing what I love. Between my wife, family, my job and personal training I have been the most swapped I've ever been my whole life.

This week was:

Day 1: Chest / Back / Abs / Cardio

1. DB Bench Press : 5 sets: 12, 10, 8, 6 and 5 reps

2. Incline DB Press: 4 sets: 12, 10, 8, 6

3. Decline DB Flyes 4 x 12, 10, 8, 6

4. DB Pullover : 4 sets: 10–15 reps (constant weight)

5. Lat Pulldowns to front: 5 sets: 12, 10, 8, 6 and 5 reps

6. Cable Rowing: 4 sets: 12, 10, 8, 6

7. T Bar : 4 sets: 12, 10, 8, 6

8. Hanging Knee Up 4 sets maximum reps

9. Crunches superset with #8 – 4 sets maximum reps

Although this appears to be a lot of work, I wanted to train each muscle from every angle. And remember, the 12 and 10 rep sets were warm-ups; the 8 rep set moderately hard, only the 6 and 5 rep sets were close to maximum poundages.

Day 2: Lower Back / Thighs / Hamstrings / Calves / No Cardio

1. Squat 5 sets: 20, 15, 12, 10, 8

2. Hack Squat: 4 sets 12 reps (constant weight)

3. Leg Extension: 4 sets: 15 reps

4. Hyperextension: 4 sets: 10 reps

5. Leg Curl: 4 sets 15 reps

6. Straight Leg Dead Lift: 4 sets: 12 reps constant weight

7. Seated Calf Raise: 5 sets: 15–20 reps

8. Standing Calf Raise: 5 sets: 15–20 reps

Day Three: No Weights / Cardio

Day Four: Shoulders / Biceps / Triceps

1. Press Behind Neck (false grip – thumbs under the bar, don’t lock out your elbows at the finish of each repetition) 5 sets: 12, 10, 8, 6, 5

2. DB Lateral Raise: (raise dumbbells to ear level, front bell slightly lower than rear) 4 sets: 12, 10, 8, 6

3. Incline Rear Lateral Raise 4 sets: 12, 10, 8, 6

4. DB Shrug 4 sets: 12, 10, 8, 6

5. Lying Triceps Extension to forehead: 5 sets: 12, 10, 8, 6, 5

6. Tricep Pressdown: 4 sets: 12, 10, 8, 6

7. 1 Arm DB Extension: 4 sets: 12, 10, 8, 6

8. Barbell Curl: 4 sets: 12, 10, 8, 6

9. Incline DB Curl: 4 sets: 12, 10, 8, 6

10. Preacher Curl: 3 sets: 10, 8, 6

Day 5: Rest / Cardio 30 minute ride

Day 6: Start the training cycle over with Day 1.

Next week will be:

Day 1 – Chest / Cardio

Day 2 – Back / Cardio

Day 3 – Off / Cardio

Day 4 – Legs / no cardio

Day 5 – Shoulders / Cardio

Day 6 – Arms / Cardio

Day 7 – No weights – Cardio

I will probably alternate the two routines every week......
