It sucks Steve, it really hurts and is a major slap against the ego. I've experienced it several times and I always feel angry and feel like avoiding the squat for weeks. This feeling subsides fairly quickly and before I know it, I'm ready to go after it again.

I'm amazed that you have avoided this before since you have so many reps under your belt. What's odd is that this experience will benefit you. You know what it feels like and you still walked away. When you take on that exact weight again, you'll crush it

I commend you for giving it a go. It takes guts to push the envelope, especially when you train solo. I saw your 585 and it looked fast. A training thought after looking at the video. You ever add in pause squats after your regular squats? Once you arch out of the whole, its a done deal with your back strength. I think the pauses might help with the transition.

Thanks for the support folks. Still not sure where to go this coming meet.

I want to add that it was the eccentric where I bailed. Not sure I mentioned that. Halfway down my brain said "no way."

Not sure why this happened. My form seemed spot on. Seemed.

I do pause squats during warm ups. I stop them at 405. After that my singles are regular.

What's the heaviest percentage wise you've ever run them?

I commend you for attempting it brother. This is what happened to me about a week ago when I missed 475..knowing full well i've done more than this previously. (550 is my best)...a few things I noticed that were off for me:

-Wasn't tight as I should been.
-Mentally was not prepared, thus miss counting my steps back.
-a slight lean forward threw me off on the way up.

Perhaps any of those could be the culprit!

Steve - not sure if it needs to be anaylsed or not. Your only human - well, maybe partially Cyborg and Transformer. Thankfully, missing a squat is rare, and I am sure you will keep it that way.
