Default Peaking Cycle Week 4 Day 4

Workout Grade: B

This workout was much better. I was able to get some good meals in me for a couple days and I was better rested. I still had a little back soreness from the power shrugs. Overall I was happy with the workout even though I didnt get the 505. That was my own fault.

SQUAT
8x135
5x225
3x315
2x8x350 - belted
Decided to use my belt today. Reps were hard but form was pretty good. Kept pretty upright.

HIGH BOX SQUAT - 16-17 inches high(2-3 inches lower than last time)
3x225
3x275
2x315
2x415 - belt
missx505 - not budging
1x465 - belt - PR at height
I didnt have any concentration on the 505. I was too worried about the box breaking as they took the taller box away. This box was a pile! I set the stops high so I could ditch the bar right as I was on the box. As soon as I took the weight off the bar I already failed because I thought about how heavy the weight was. As I was going down I already thought I wasnt going to be able to push it. Need to get more mentally prepared for these lifts. I took my knee wraps but I didnt use them. They may have helped some. All that is done though and I am ready for next week.

GHR
1x10
2x10x10
I finally found the right postioning for the bench. They felt really good once I got that positioning down.

LEG PRESS
3x8x705
Never took my feet off the leg press. Some pretty decent straining here.

Workout Time: 65 minutes

I would have been nervous as heck too. Strong work though from bell to bell. That 465 box squat is very impressive. I know you'll get that 500.

Thanks Steve! Yeah I need to talk to the manager and see if he can get some decent boxes made.

Default Peaking Cycle Week 4 Day 6

Workout Grade: B

Energy was pretty good. The worst part of the workout was putting all the plates on and off the bar. Pain in the arse. Used wraps a lot today. Overall good with a PR set.

BENCH
10xbar
7x135
5x225
1x8x265
1x8x265 - wraps
Bench felt pretty easy. Last couple reps got a little harder. No pausing on the reps.

DEADLIFT OFF PLATES (2-100# plates stacked on each other ~6 inches off the floor)
7x135
5x235
3x325
3x410 - MG - forgot to put one collar on
3x505 - MG
.5x555 - MG - to knees and grip was giving out
1x555 - strapped OHG - PR
missx595
Well this was fun. First I had to take the 100# plates and roll them 1/4 way across the gym since all the areas for deadlifts were full. I ended up moving a bench and used that area. The 2 plates were about 6 inches off the floor. The 505 went easy. The 555 was going with the MG but I had to bail because I was losing the bar. The 595 was welded. Even with the straps. The 555 with straps wasnt too bad. Then when I was done I had to take all the weights and put them back. Took me about 5 or 6 minutes.

CGBP
10x135
7x225
3x275
2x295
2x305 - wraps
2x305 - wraps
2x305 - wraps
Did a lot of holding the weight at the top of the last rep.

STRAIGHT BAR PUSHDOWNS
10x93
10x176
10x176
Slow reps.

Workout Time: 70 minutes

Well one good thin about the deadlift...595 might feel welded, but 590 might have been yours. Usually that extra 5 pounds kills me.

A warmup in itself.

I will probably take a stab at 565 next week or try to go down a little lower.
