Just a broomhandle though to get the blood pumping into the lower back which it did; then it was some Deep Heat rub which really heated up once it hit the warm skin

Will be doing some basic stretching later; I was on my feet for a good duration, earlier, and things don't feel quite as bad as they did this time last week, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is purely a case of giving the body some time to recover from whatever happened...which, to this day, I still can't fathom.

Makes me wonder ...I have to admit, I've never had a doctor ask me if I'd like something for the pain, normally it's the patient asking the doctor but not when I saw him last week; I guess, I didn't look none too well, not to mention the diagrams showing him all the various areas which were in constant pain and/or discomfort.

He actually feels there's much more going on than a simple back issue but I'm hoping that's not the case.

Today

Modified Sun Salutations just to get the essential work from the poses rather than the actual flow, so it was broken down into segments which helped release certain areas of the body one by one.

Surprisingly, it went extremely well but tomorrow will tell the whole story.

I also needed a reference point for tomorrow's doc visit, so that worked for that purpose too.

Cobra pose was very good with upper body just minimally off vertical and only because the pelvis in relation to the lower body and the floor won't permit a literal vertical posture anyway.

Downward Dog Pose, very good as well with no back issues presenting themselves at this point.

Standing Forward Bend, excellent, knees to shins as I warmed-up, no back issues that I could tell.

Completely forgot the standing backwards bends but have been trialling that on and off throughout the last few days anyway, so no problem there; and placed kneeling hip extensions/stretching in, which were also great.

Overall, happy but still not going to push things just yet and when I get the all-clear to push, it will be a slow-go.

Yup, I like the Sun Salutation because it's an easy and all-in-one stretch session, instead of an exercise here and an exercise there, everything flows etc.
