Default Jwood Wanna Be a Bodybuilder!

Awesome workout today on the new program, I really had a good time today. So here it is:

Chest/Biceps

Bench Press w/ chains
135x12
185x8
195x8
200x8 This was a struggle!

Incline Bench Press
135x8
155x8
185x8
Started light this week, since I have not done incline in months so I want to let my body adjust.

Pec Dec
100x3x15
Good pump here and could really feel the squeeze

Barbell Curls
95x8
105x8, 8

Hammer Curls on Incline Bench
35s x 10, 11, 11

Awesome workout, I forgot how much fun it is to do high reps. I was extremely swollen. The skin on my arms feels like it is going to tear. My chest is dead, speed bench should be interesting today. I am really going to enjoy this workout for a while. Time to pack on some size

The MM was great, kept me focused throughout the workout and I had an awesome pump today.

Energy/Focus 9 good clean energy
Pump 10 I have not been swollen like this in a long time!
Recovery 9 no crash yet, and still pretty jacked up!

I have not really decided yet, I am thinking of making the last set a max rep set and if I hit 12 reps in that last set I will move up weight the next week. I think that would be the best way to progress.

I think that's a solid approach. I've been hearing a lot about that approach lately. It's tricky finding the balance - sometimes you can do too many reps on earlier sets, which can limit strength on later sets.

Jwood, just wanted to share what i been doing on my max rep sets. I try not to count, and just turn off my brain and bang out the reps, get into some kind of rhythm. IMO the max rep set is just to load your muscles more, and i try to keep my main progression in my main worksets.

I think it is a good approach, my plan is to basically do 8, 8, max. I like doing one all out set.

Good workout, I actually felt really strong after this morning's workout. I hope this program works out, I feel great now. I know I am going to be very sore tomorrow. Shoulders and triceps, can not wait!
