Default AAEFX Freak Maker is making bamazav a freak!

I am excited that Rippednmichigan has given me this opportunity to try out the new product from AAEFX. Here is a little synopsis of Freak Maker:

Freak Maker Build
  • Scientifically engineered post-workout formula that combines quality protein sources – including ProtaLyn – with Karbolyn, Kre-Alkalyn and medium-chain triglycerides
  • 2:1 carb-to-protein ratio to optimize post-training recovery and repair
  • Contains 24 grams of protein from six sources: ProtaLyn, whey isolate, whey concentrate, milk isolate, casein and egg
  • Delivers 58 grams of fast-absorbing Karbolyn to replenish glycogen stores
  • Features 1.5 grams of Kre-Alkalyn supplying pH-buffered creatine monohydrate

I am preparing for a powerlifting meet, my first, on 5/31/2014 and then will turn around and begin prepping toward an August 9, 2014 meet. The doctor has also encouraged me to lose the belly fat so I am in the awkward position of trying to gain strength and slowly lose weight so as not to lose strength or muscle. This is where Freak Maker will come in. Most of the carbs I take in during the day are around my workout. The carbs and creatine in Freak Maker will be just the ticket in my body rebuilding effort.

This week is my final heavy week before my meet. Next week will be light work in preparation. Meet day, I plan to take some Freak Maker with me to provide some extra carbs and protein during the meet. Following the meet, I will be starting a 10 week prep for the next meet. Did I mention that Freak Maker will really come in handy?

I will be logging the vanilla Freak Maker. I will be using the following paradigm for my assessment of this product.

1-Strength/Rep Increase
2-Sustained Workout Energy
3-Focus Enhancement
4-Pumps
5-Side Effects (or lack thereof)
6-Taste
7-Overall assessment

So let's get this show on the road!

The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect. The iron is not a disciplinarian, but when disrespected, I feel it for a long time. The iron does not love or hate, but we definitely share a strong bond. And no matter how far I stay away or for how long, the iron is there, waiting to be lifted.

Thanks again to Ripped for including me in on this experience.

Being that FMB is a post workout formula, I will start this log in two parts. Tonight I will talk about the flavor experience and anyimmediate side effects. Tomorrow I will address strength, energy, focus and pump as well as DOMS and recovery.

I asked for the Vanilla flavored FMB because it has been my experience that vanilla is harder toget right than chocolate. When you open the jug you are greeted by a warm inviting vanilla scent. The fine powder smells sweet but not too sweet. I was a bit taken back by the size of the scoop add to the fact that you are directed to use two scoops and I was expecting a syruppy sweet drink. Not to be. The flavor was light and refreshing. I mixed the two scoops with 16 oz of water. Initially I was going to use it both pre and post, but changed my mind and put it in the fridge. By the time my session of Dog House Training was over, I had a nice thick vanilla shake with no grit or left over clumps. I was sad to see the empty shaker cup.

After my shake and a quick shower, I returned to the office and usual Wednesday activities. No protein farts, not stomach issues, no weird after tastes, no burps or other gas. Thus far no side affects.

At this point:

9/10* for Taste and Smell
9/10* for Side Effects

*I never rate anything 10/10, as this side of Heaven, there is nothing perfect.

Promised to bring part Duece of my thoughts on FMB today. Briefly, no DOMS, I felt great all day. it is hard to determine focus, strength, pump and energy after one serving and being that this is a post workout product. At the moment, I can say that My recovery seems to be enhanced. The big test will on Saturday when I deadlift. Was supposed to lift tomorrow, but I need to go visit my father who had emergency surgery this week.

NOTES
Last heavier session before meet next Saturday. 335 is not my top, but I was running out of gas and did not want to get hurt so I backed off. I feel good overall. I am ready for the showdown.

Freak Maker Build
Today was a quick mix after my workout. 16 0z of water and 2 scoops in my Shark Shaker. it mixed quickly and easily. After I chugged the drink, it tastes so good I couldn't take my time, there was only about a .25 teaspoon of unmixed powder. I have had regular whey isolate leave more than that at times. Did I mention how good it tastes? I do like it better if it sits a bit and thickens up.

A few hours post, no bloating or gassiness. No sugar crash. No soreness, though I am tired and can feel it. Had enough energy, post workout, to cookout, do some weed whacking, and take the dog on a walk.

Taste - 8/10 - I Like it better after it sits a while and thickens up.
Pump - NA - can't say I notice any pump.
Endurance - I feel like I could go back out in the Dog House and do some more work. 8/10
Strength - Still too early to tell.
Focus - I am focused, but i do not think it has anything to do with FMB, so no rating.

I am really liking this product. Hunting for some more, cause 15 days is too short a trial.
