Default Kinesio Tape?

Just placing this here to find easy..

Going to give KT tape a try. If I find it works.. I'm going to try and learn everything about it to help apply it to others.

Has anyone gave this a try?

My physical therapist used it on me. I think its more mental than anything. It might have worked, I don't know.

My wife uses it at work as an occupational therapist and believes it has some real qualities to it. She also believes it also has a placebo effect. I understand the science behind it but the confusion I think comes with the fact that it has many applications and uses. The uses I understand, note that I am in no way qualified to give advice on the uses of K-Tape this is just what I feel I have gleaned from those that are:

-Used on an area with muscle pain, soreness, or injury to create blood flow and increased healing time by gently lifting the skin.

-Used for support, like athletic tape, but more flexible, sticky, and expensive (quite expensive in comparison, but very durable and sticky).

-What I personally used it for-I have forward shoulders at time from driving a ton and leaning over a computer. A PT and my wife have put K-Tape across my upper back while I stand with good posture and stretch it just a touch while it's applied. After it's applied if I shrug my shoulders and have bad posture I will physically feel the tape stretch and it gives my brain a cue to straighten up. It actually works really well for this purpose and helped me a lot. It also helps that it will stay on for days at a time, making it pretty convenient.

So that's my take on it, can be useful, can be over-used, but it is a neat product and I'm sure I'll use it again.

As you saw in my log I have tried it and am a big fan. Lots of videos on YouTube on how to apply for each problem.
