So......Spent all this afternoon at the eye clinic at the Rockyview General for eye testing and the verdict is in...

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!

My drivers license will be renewed.

You see, every 5 years here in Alberta, licenses have to be renewed at your birthday, and 2016 was my turn, as 2011 was the last time it was, just a year. before my Birdshot came to be.

My Birdshot came out of remission awhile back when I got that infection in my fingers. I will skip all the details to keep this short. I have been fighting the inflammation ever since. It's like round 2 of the match, except this time it was much more serious and problematic with my eye pressure being a problem, hence no lifting.

My diet restrictions were quit severe, with my digestive issues as you know. It's been quite the fight, along with the depression from the disease, no lifting for so long, this severe recession, and Mrs Squatters' ongoing unemployment. She has been unemployed for 2 years now.

I will tell more of the story later, because I want to tell you about some lifting!

I have found a new crew! That was necessary, as the old gym closed and moved, to a location across town which is way too far for me to get to. Also, I could not afford the crew dues of $300 a year anymore, as we have been living on my salary alone, and with me not lifting, I aint paying dues. Its too bad really. Also, meets are out of the question. The GPC meets cost me 150.00 (100.00 for the GPC membership plus 50.00 for the actual meet fee).

However, the closing gym offered to transfer memberships to a nearby gym. However, with my issues, I did not get around to doing that until now. The powers that be are now in the process of doing that. In the meantime, they are letting me into the new gym to train. In that gym, I have met a new group of guys or crew who belong to a fed called "100% RAW or Powerhouse Lifting. They also train on weekends. They welcomed me and invited me to join, which I of course did. They charge ZERO dues!I have now trained with them for a couple of weeks. Heres a vid of me benching 210X5 with a slingshot"

I also squatted the week before that in the Jimgym and worked up to a 195 for a fiver for 5 sets and then did 195 X10. I did some GM's for 145 X8 for 3 sets after that. here's a vid of a set of 195 X5:

I also squatted with the crew last Saturday and worked up to a triple of 315 X3. (sorry, no vid) I was pretty happy with that, considering the circumstances.

These guys are fully aware that I haven't lifted in many months and all my history. If I was now at all my old previous bests, I would actually be out lifting them all, young and old. Remember, these guys are all raw, no suits or even knee wraps.

So, very excited to get on with it, and see what my future holds.

And, oh yeah, I almost lost my tremor surgery too.

A lot of good news, Jim. A triple with three plates after all those struggles is awesome, with that new crew to train with, you'll be back full strength in no time!
