Big, mighty bench you have sir!! It's awesome no matter what happens and what equipment you have. Something to be very proud of for sure.
Thanks! I will keep the hips raising quickly if it means no lower back issues (just a bit of a joke, I will try to get my form as perfect as possible). Definitely think that I'll be doing touch and go deadlifts here with no round plates.

Thank you! The race to 405 raw continues!

405x1 Holy. Shit. This was some massive weight right here. Never in my life did I think that I would even hold this in my hands, let alone push it up slingshot or no. Extremely ecstatic! Excited to see just how far I can go with this thing and how it'll carry over to my raw bench.
Video has 365, 385, and 405.
365 and 385 were very clean, but 405 my technique was a bit off. Right arm got a little ahead of the left, but in the end I locked them up together.

Love the spotter didn't touch the bar, love how you lift, love the fact you nailed the 405 - what a dream lift my friend - congratz and couldn't be happier, as you made my day. Last but not least, love the reaction. It shows your absolute love for powerlifting in my mind - and that means alot.

I sure hope other members come in here and see that, if not in the PR thread or what have you, should you post it there. One thing is for sure, I will always read your journal every day.

The sky is the limit for you in all walks of life.

Quite an amazing feeling. The weights are something else. No matter what happens in my life I can step into a gym and have a clean slate. It's a feeling like no other to have a place of solace such as that.

Thank you! That really means a lot. I appreciate all of your kinds words.

Big rows, big fronties, big bench. It never ends! Big everything in here.

Depth was just perfect on those fronties as well.

Dimels are just like RDL's eh? Except Dimels are more explosive?

Thanks!

I tried to sink on down and that felt like a really good, natural feeling depth.

Basically yes. I think Dave Tate refers to them as a ballistic partial deadlift. Down to the knees then hips/glutes flex as hard as possible and as the reps go on try to increase speed and use momentum to really stretch the hamstrings. My #1 alternative to GHR personally.

Default Heavy Bench

Was sick at the start of today. Decided to keep the reps low. Did 315 and my speed was soooo slow. Very slow off the chest, but my as soon as my triceps took over the weight flew up.
Prepare for volume!

Bench: Really focused on explosion. That's definitely my weak point now. I'm also very slow on the descent.
Barx15
135x5
185x3
225x1
275x1

315x2
315x2
5 explosive push-ups
275x2
5 explosive push-ups
275x2
5 explosive push-ups
275x2
5 explosive push-ups
275x2 paused
5 explosive push-ups
Add slingshot
335x2 paused
5 explosive push-ups
335x2 paused
5 explosive push-ups
335x2 paused
5 explosive push-ups

DB Bench:
70x15
70x15
70x15

Rope pushdowns:
100x10
120x10
120x10

Cable Curls:
50x15
60x15
70x15

May also try spoto presses as a secondary movement instead of CGBP because the slingshot is definitely overloading my triceps enough. Will think on things and get this sorted out.
