But seriously, what is the reason they don't like ohp?
That's what I wondered. But I read a post somewhere else by a guy who said he could do seated OHP (maybe on a Smith machine?) or seated DB at Planet Fitness, but not standing ones.

So I guess PF think standing OHPs are more likely to result in an accident.

so i was working out today doing bb over head press and one the workers there told me i wasnt allowed to do that movement. i can do it sitting/standing bb or in the smithmachine. i mean come on its not like anyone besides me was trying to use the squat rack area anyway. pure BS i hate all the wack ass rules they have there but i love the $10 a month fee though.. .lol

I think OHP is an awesome lift - and one that many gym goers neglect. Anyone lifting heavy loads overhead will make other folks at PF feel bad and dare I say, "intimidated". Seriously, PF has kicked out folks for looking too good and not covering up completely while lifting - because it apparently intimidates the other users of the facility.

But really, PF is doing us all a favor. They make no bones about the fact that they dont cater to the serious lifter. They exist for those who go to a gym to feel good about themselves whether they work hard in there or not. I would much rather these folks pay a meagre $10 fee and go to PF than hang out in other facilities and hog the power rack for doing curls (in some cases even DB curls - saw this the other night at the university gym where I lift).
