Sorry to hear your back is still giving you grief. I may find myself in the same boat with my back. The BBB is a good idea, at least then your doing something. I know I start going crazy if I can't lift.

Sucks man. Light work on the back may work nice

Thanks guys. Really appreciate the support, especially at a kinda crappy time like this.

Here's the programming that will be, for the lifts I can do for now, and for all lifts soon (... I hope):

* bbb “variation 1” for all lifts (i.e., bbb done with fsl weights)

* optional joker sets (some autoregulation beyond the "+" sets)

* press assist: chins (5x10), pec deck /ss/ reverse pec deck

* deads assist: leg press (5x20), hanging pike

* bench assist: bb row (5x10), rope pushdown /ss/ rope curl, face pull

* squat assist: leg curl (5x20), hanging pike

If you have any thoughts regarding that, let me know. Totally cool if you don't, of course. I'm pretty happy with the plan, as it stands.

Bench tomorrow. Not so much rows, at least not yet... or not heavy. Possibly just a lot of pullups again.

Squat day will probably feature some more light front squats. Or the "just BBB" idea. But hey, who knows, by then...

Good luck with the back. Back injuries are the worse.

Thanks, Mike. Yep, it's frustrating alright.

Chris, It's the lower back, almost near the tailbone kinda thing (I think). Definitely getting better, and light deadlifting didn't seem to bother it much (this is the day after now). Same goes for light front squats. Haven't tried any other squats yet. As for doctors, it would be a matter of finding one around here who understands lifting at all, etc.

I was doing quite well with deadlifts before this happened too. Got back up to 210kg for a single, anyway, and that wasn't too taxing.

Oh well. I figure, take it light for now. See what happens.

Cheers, Mic.

My wife has something very similar. Somewhere around her sacrum something is out of alignment and it pops during certain motions. She has trouble with full rom squats occasionally, Sldl/rdl, and conventional deadlifts. She does box squats and sumo deadlifts just fine. Quite honestly though if it really bothers you, you'll need an mri. At the very least find out some lower back physical therapy you can do daily and combine it with anti inflammatories ( ibuprofen ), and icing the area multiple times a day. That is always the conservative treatment doctor's will prescribe first.

If you want to pm me your email I can send you some pdf's I have on back injury and mobility.
