Default Digital Food Scale

I am thinking about ordering a digital food scale from somewhere online. As part of my new goals I am going to take steps to monitor and manipulate my caloric intake.
I am thinking a digital food scale will help make things more accurate.

Anyone have any recommendations on good scales? Or any information on what to look for? Any special considerations?

Thanks!

I would advise against digital. Needs batteries, and can malfunction. In fact I bought a digital scale from Amazon first and when I got it, scale no worky.

So I got this one.

Works great, shiny and good looking, 5 g. increments, and will work forever.

We had the opposite experience, our battery has just died and we've had the scale for over 5 years with no functioning issues.

Our's is a Soehlne, I'm not sure if they do them anymore if you can get hold of it either.

I have to say though, we do have a back-up non-digital scale, mostly because we kept it in storage when we got the other one but I do prefer the digital one.

The fact that it comes with a weighing bowl and a flat base for that to sit on, makes it great, because when weighing stuff, I take off the bowl and put on a plate or other container, then switch on, which brings it to 0, then add food/ingredients directly to the plate/dish that I'll be using instead of having to wash the measuring bowl every 5 seconds etc.
