Sorry to hear this news Mike, that's a fair bit to deal with spread over time but lumped altogether just amplifies the stress factor.
My Grandpa always told me when life gets tough and it seems like there's no letting up, tie a knot and hold on bc it will always change.
Express each day being thankful for having each other and you will make it through it stronger in your marriage & as a family.

I had to let my training slide recently, just get in a workout here and there, my new job is 6-7 days a week some day's I don't recover from the work so training would be a waste.

The stresses of today will be memories soon enough. Stress is what defines our character. Sometimes a little perspective is all the motivation necessary.

Going to keep your Family in my thoughts Mike.

I feel for you Mike, I was in a simialr situation not too long ago. Things are better, but not as good as they were.

I think as you get older, marriage gets a LOT harder, and requires a lot more work from both sides. As people age, their interests, likes, and dislikes change also. Things my wife and I used to like to do together, now one of us no longer has interest. I have new interest she is not interestd in (Backpacking and Lifting) and she has new interests (horses, and her new boyfriend) that I am not interested in...just kidding on the new boyfriend....at least I think Im kidding!

Anyway, we have both found that it takes a lot more patience toward the other on than it used to. We also had to realize things are not the same as they were 15 - 20 - 25 years ago, and they never will be.

I really hope you both get it all sorted out and things get better for everyone involved!

The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect. The iron is not a disciplinarian, but when disrespected, I feel it for a long time. The iron does not love or hate, but we definitely share a strong bond. And no matter how far I stay away or for how long, the iron is there, waiting to be lifted.

Thanks for the update Mike! Oh my you do have a full plate right now. But it appears you have your priorities straight, and if you both work together, you can make anything work! Hope nothing but the best for you and your family Mike, the iron will still be there when you are ready.

Thanks fellas! Marriage is working itself out, holidays wrapping up, responsibilities easing up again and finally got all the stuff I needed for my Virginia license in and have had an interview already. With reasonable luck I should get a job this Spring. We'll see, but it's out of my hands now.

So, that stuff getting resolved, it's back to work on my personal goals. Still the same, hopefully 1200 by the end of 2014. We'll see.

I'm dropping the fullbody for now, I'll get back to Korte one of these days just not now as I'm hideously out of shape. I won't even tell you my weight. Suffice it to say it is horrible, but getting in some solid work and cleaning up the diet a bit should resolve that on it's own. We'll see and make adjustments as necessary as I go along.

I'm going to be doing an auto-regulated program that Miked came up with and see what happens. Basically, it's the big four once a day 5x 3 at an easyish weight to start and add 5 every week dropping sets when you start to not make 3 until you get to 1x 3, then test and start over. For deadlifts it's only 1x 5, though. Then a couple accessory lifts and that's it. I'm going add in some light dynamic movements and a finisher each day to help burn some fat and get my athleticism back but nothing really heavy, more movement oriented.

So it looks like:
M - Some light cleans, Deadlift 1x 5, Rows 3x 8, Abs 3x, Shrugs 3x 10, Hills
T - Light Snatch, OHP 5x 3, Rear Delts 3x, 100-200 pushups, Pullups, BB complex
Th - Lightish cleans, Squat 5x 3, GMs 3x 10, Abs 3x, Romanians 3x 10, Sled
F - Hammer swings, Bench 5x 3, Pullups/Lat pulls, CGBP 2x 5, DB ext 3x 12, Hammers 5x 10, Loading or Object carries

Today was deadlifts and it wasn't pretty! Haha. It'll come back soon enough. There you go.

Warmup: 10 Goblet, swings each hand, pushups, 2x 15 band shoulder stuff (going to make this a generic warmup for now)

Cleans:
2x 3x 95

Deadlift:
5x 135, 185, 225, 245*

BB Row:
3x 8x 155

Plank:
60 sec., 45 sec., 30 sec. (90 sec. rest impacted this severely!)

Shrug:
3x 10x 225 (controlled, squeeze and hold a beat kind)

Tire: 0

Hills: 2x 60 yards

*I had 5x 275 in mind for the deadlifts, but the last 2 with 245 were really not very good reps, so stopped right there. Hopefully next week is much better than that as that is embarrassing! I do want all the deadlift reps to be my very best form though, so I'll work these up to where they need to be.

Everything else went well. Well except for the Tire! Holy Moly, I could barely move it off the ground at all. It was full of water, so that's my excuse, but man that was much harder than expected.

There you go. First step back in the right direction.

Stay strong bro. When the weight of the world is on your back, squat that shit and make it your bitch. But serious, very happy things are getting better for you.
