300 x 2 x 3
Same as last week. I'm fine with that. No lift offs and no spotter so didn't push too hard.

Add Bench Daddy (all reps paused)
355 x 2, no lift off, second paused rep was almost a grinder
405 x 1, PR match
Nice bench work, with a lift off at the meet, bench should be great.

The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect. The iron is not a disciplinarian, but when disrespected, I feel it for a long time. The iron does not love or hate, but we definitely share a strong bond. And no matter how far I stay away or for how long, the iron is there, waiting to be lifted.

Yeah I'm bummed you're missing the meet! I had planned on tapping into your Monster energy

Will definitely share a platform in 2014!

Yes the lift off should definitely help some. 12 days and counting haha

You lazy bastard!!

Still not 100% sure but thinking about:
Squat 300
Bench 275
Dead 405 (not sure if this is too high or not)
I'm aiming for a 450 third pull, so is 405 too high to open? My gym PR is only 435. Any thoughts from the experienced masses?

I am FAR from experienced, but my last meet, my gym dead PR was 325, so I opened with 305, which I could EASILY do a double with the week before the meet.

Squat gym PR was 295, opened with 275, again, I EASILY did a dbl the week before.

Cant remember the Bench numbers!

Could you pull 405 if you were half dead? I'd wait to decide until you do your mock meet ramping up to your planned openers, usually 1 week before the meet. If it feels good to go then and you have zero doubt, then go for it. The thing is with deads is you never know how beat up you will be after squats and bench.

Dude your walls are lined with gold medals!!

Percentage wise we are pretty comparable on deadlift openers. You are a bit more confident than I on squatz. I want to be ultra conservative on my opener as it is my first ever platform lift and really don't want to bomb it! My bench opener would be about 90% of gym paused PR.

I think you're right Jim. I should have a better idea after my mock meet on Sunday.

Is it best to take the entire week off for rest, or go in a couple of days early in the week and do light/bloodflow type "work"? I know I'm makinig this more complicated than it needs to be lol.

My last meet was on a Sunday.

W/O partner was competing in the same meet.

We had a "Mock Meet" the Tuesday before....we did our openers for a double each. Just like a meet, we would call the others name, set a timer for 1 minute. Have the other give the commands and judge.

Then on Thursday, I did 1 x 5 squat @ 135 lbs, 1 x 5 bench @ 135 lbs, and a 1 x 5 dead @ 225 lbs. A few OHP and that was it.

Having said all that, I was pretty conservative at my first meet, and the squat being first, I was REALLY nervous, but after the first lift...the entire meet went by WAY TO FAST!

Dont worry, the adrenaline will make you do some amazing things.....

Looking forward to your mock meet.

DL opener--I agree with Jimbro. You don't know how you are going to feel after Squat and Bench. If you can confidently pull 405 with no problem then stay with it. If not, drop it maybe 15-20lbs and go from there.

Disregard this^^^ I don't know what I'm talking about.

Go Rich Go!
