Took last week off of weight training to focus on some cardio (yuck), not a big fan of cardio but had to do it...

Also in Aug I hit weights 20 days out of 21 weekday sessions taking the weekends off... That's a lot of work!

Thinking of starting this tomorrow:

Love my 5-day splits

I personally cannot imagine doing a program with squats and deads, but there is definitely always more than one route to the destination.

Good luck with it Gregger!

Decided to hold off on the above for now in lieu of a good old fave back routine for today...

I prolly could explain a bit... my labs came back from my last visit.
Doc's not pleased... Say's to add more cardio right away.
I go back in 12wks for another round... By then I need to lower my carbs & drop about 10lbs and get my diet squared away (my A1C was high); if my fasting glucose doesn't come back down to 6.2-6.5 I'm in big trouble.

The good news is my kidney function (creatinine levels) are back to normal, so, it's back to high protein low carb diet for me.

So... I spend all last week out of the gym... I'm doing HIIT... I'm doing stairs...
I'm watching my diet, etc... I drop 5-6lbs... great news...
Then I get a letter from the Doc's office saying she's leaving to accept a fellowship position and I need to find another Doc... ugh... Screw all that cardio...

Back to the weights today!

I'd rather cut carbs then do extra cardio any day.

Update...

Still hitting the weights at my new gym (omahabarbell.com). They've added some additional equip lately including Atlas stones... I prolly won't go near them, I'll leave those for the big fellas, ha!

I think I've got my nutrition down now, the BF is coming off, I did start back on Metformin just to help for now, but still off the big diabetic meds!
