Yeah it is allot your right, I'm trying to ease myself it it.

The idea is I add a considerable amount weight each time, and drop reps as I go along.

You have a point though actually. I'm likely not going as low as I can, because I'm kind of scared I'll get stuck at the bottom.

Getting some saw horses soon though to go below the stands so that should solve it.

Default Blowing the dust off.

Today I decided to blow the dust off my log and put it to use once again.

There was a period of a few months last year, where I wasn't really gaining strength.
It was a diet issue that I later solved, but obviously, for the time I'd been lifting, my numbers were now behind because of it.

After that I put off logging, because I felt bad.
Bad that I wasn't where I should've been in terms of how much weight I could lift, and concerned as to how that would make me look, on a forum that's helped me so much to push forward and get the results I desire.

Because I hadn't been gaining strength for a few months, and consequentially couldn't lift as much as I should at that point in my lifting journey, I worried everyone would think I hadn't been listening, and had just ignored the advice you'd all given me.

After a couple of PM's recently asking me where my log was, and it coming up in conversation today in the shout box, I decided I was being stupid.

So, I'm logging again. Thank you to those who told me to get back on it.
(Dray, ND, Steve)

I'll look forward to being a part of the logging community again.

The routine I'm on is the same format I've been on since the beginning.

Full body, mostly 5x5, A to B.
I've recently switched to 3 days a week, rather than every other day.

Sometimes it's better to have an extra rest day, rather than an extra training day, and it turns out that was the case for me.

Today was Workout A. Here's what went down.

2 minuets rest for compounds, 1 minuet rest for isolation movements.
If you think I'd be better setting this out a different way then let me know.

SQUATS - 12,8,8,8,8 - 90KG/198LBS
Ideally, I'd want to do lower reps, but for now I've decided to go higher, due to my set up not being good enough to use more weight.
Going to finally get some sawhorses soon, and then I'll feel more comfortable.
Just don't feel 5x5 would be the best of idea's given the fact I have stands and nothing else.
BARBELL ROWS - 5X5 -85KG/187LBS
These are the bodybuilder style barbell rows. Did Pendlay for ages and wanted to try a different variation.
Working towards 5X5 with 85KG. Only managed 2 sets with that weight today, dropped it and did another 3 sets.
WEIGHTED CHIN-UPS - 5X5 - BW+12.5KG/27LBS
2 sets before I failed. Working towards 5X5 with 12.5KG
BENCH PRESS - 5X5 - 85KG/187LBS
Annoyingly failed on the 5th rep of the 5th set. Thought I might get the last rep so I went for it. Wasn't to be though. Very nearly got. Make sure next time.
INCLINE BENCH - 5X5 - 60KG/132LBS
Just added these on. Understand it might be too much volume when I've already got flat bench in there and triceps pushdowns, so opinions welcome.
Dropped the weight to 60KG for these, and did 5 sets of 5 dropping the weight after each set.
It's just bench is the only exercise I've got for my chest between the two workouts. Wondered if I might need something extra in there.
Enjoyed it anyway.
TRICEP PUSHDOWNS - 8X3 - ?
Not sure how much weight I had on these. I had 7 blocks on.
My machine has the big vinyl weight blocks that go at the back, as opposed to the iron ones, and stupidly, I didn't find out how much each weighed when me and my dad built it! :P
Anyway, the weight was enough to do 8X3, dropping the weight on the third set.
BARBELL CURLS - 30KG
set of 5 at 30kg, and then 3 more dropping the weight each set, at 7, 10, 12.

So there it is.

Like I say, not where I should be in terms of weight, but the thing that stalled me I've learned from, and am ready to push on.
No point wondering where I "could" be by now.

Thanks everyone.

Will look forward to seeing how you guys are getting on in your logs. (Very well by the looks of things )

Smart move getting back to logging. Never feel ashamed of where you are at, it's a process and we've all been in the gutter mentally before and have learned there is no time wasted, we learn from it all.
