Alternatively, if you prefer the short sharp shock approach, meditate on the fate of the poorest people in the world, who outnumber the rest of us by far, living in poverty, misery, sqaulor, hopelessness. Realise just how lucky you are, and in just how many ways (which again, leads to the first option)...
6'2", ~100kg (~220lbs). 40yo, training (with a few breaks) since my late 30s.

when i'm building up some stress i like to go and punch the heavy bag for as many rounds as i can until i have nothing left, i always feel more calm and relaxed and feel i am in a tranquil state for some time after.
