Some would say that "eating clean" would involve not eating highly processed foods. Others may consider "clean eating" to be low fat. Still others may consider it to be low carb eating. But truthfully, there is no such thing. I like to think of it as "Healthy Eating" where you have a good balance of all the macros, eat plenty of fruits and veggies, and manipulate your calories to raise or reduce your weight. I also like BtB's rule of 90%; allowing for 10% crap when you feel like it. No reason to get too carried away with all of it unless you are in the final stages of stepping onto the stage.

I tell my kids to eat "primarily" foods that haven't been processed and make sure you get enough fats.

yup. clean eating = nothing processed. agree.
pretty much as fresh and direct as possible without being tampered with. fats, carbs, proteins...all important

I tend to go for "clean" clean eating.... I make sure to wash my fruits and veggies before I eat them
