Still looks splashed over compared to his day before pic.

Tipical IFBB. Mass over conditioning.

I was thinking last night how I would love to see an IFBB pro with your back conditioning.

I have ran into so many even NPC amitures that over carb and splash over and throw away all there hard work cutting down, just to look bigger and full.
Take the time to find how many carbs you can take in without splashing over and show your best full package.

No Cutler doesn't look as good as the winner, not even close, IMO.

While I do respect the work they put in (of course), I am not all that impressed with these sort of physiques; most would be "extra" motivated to train when the returns from investment are doubled/trippled as compared to a natural. If the body was meant to be this large, then they wouldn't have to resort to illegal substances to achieve this level of muscle mass. Don't waste time looking at their training routines, diet, or what they take supposedly illegally. I am probably in the minority, but this (in breif) is how I feel about it.

I'm not a fan of their physiques either, but I do have a lingering fondness for the sport that transcends its current state.

You are certainly NOT in the minority regarding their training and diet routines. This is a pillar of MAB. We have always dissuaded natural trainees from looking towards the training of pros. That has been my stance since day one.

I look at those videos with a mixture of feelings.

I find it astonishing that a body can look like that, and at one level, I find it awe-inspiring. When real people have physiques that eclipse those of the Marvel comic characters I grew up, I can't help being impressed.

Then again, I remind myself how useless a body that size is. Arnold could run along the beach and still look reasonably athletic - I guess those guys couldn't run 30 yards - or am I mistaken? They just look too big to do anything much except train and stand around.

Lastly, I find it pretty sad that given their lifestyle, they may well have a greatly shortened life span, for rewards that most professional athletes would find laughable.

I still prefer the 180-210 pound physiques that looked powerful and fit, and featured small waistlines.

Yes, makes me think of that Marvin Eder thread you started. There's a guy who really had everything: massive strength, spectacular physique, athleticism as well as looking like he was glowing with health.

It would be great to see a competition judged on fitness, strength and physique.

I think you would be surprised with how athletic some of them actually are.

Look up some of Kai Green's posing routines, dude is like a freakin ballerina on stage, crazy how much balance and flexibility he has with all of that mass.

And regarding the judging comments on Jay.

Let's not forget he was the reigning champ, it didn't matter how far out he came in last night, he was getting second place.
