The worst part of short inserts/connective tissue (#4) is (I say inserts because we all have a long head and short head) the Bi fills in the whole area between the delt and elbow. This is what prevents the "Peek" appearance vrs. one that ends a few inches pre. elbow (long inserts).

Long inserts

Short inserts

The short head arm is much smaller but has a higher peek appearance due to a long inserts. When you have short you have to have 2X the size to look as big as a short insert head. Due to a long inserts having the void by the elbow giving the peek bigger appearance.
Short inserts is much easier to keep semitry between the Tri and Bi for a Front Double Bi pose.
If you have a long inserts you need to work harder on the Brachialis to fill in the void between Bi and Tri for the Rear Double Bi pose or you will have a big gap in the arm.

I think mine are between the two, although id prefer the appearance of the ones in pic 2 as like you say Rich they are more symetrical.

I dont really give the biceps much attention to be honest though (although Id obviously like bigger arms ), I just concentrate on pulls at the minute to hit them. I think i should definitely pay them at bit more attention though (especially if i were ever gonna compete), because like it or not, the gunz are always scrutinised

Carl.
Just remember the Tri makes up 2/3rd the arm size. Look at the tri on arm 1 vrs. arm 2. Arm 2 it looks like packman or a whale attacking the elbow. This is good. The war club look of 1 is not good, symmetry wise.
