Again the goal is a solid mid section, not a chewed up bubble gum one.

FYI my avatar picture has my training parners in it from left to right

matt 198 class, me 308 class, brett 242 class. Obviously I have the heights fat % out of the group.
Maybe I'm the wrong guy to talk about this then. haha I'm pretty big on my pulls over anything else...

Kirk may very well be a Yeti! his 1000x2 is one of the most impressive lifts ever in my opinion.

I think it should be noted that 30% bodyfat does not necessarily equal a big gut. I have been at 42% at my heaviest and it didn't look like I had anymore more than a minor gut. I was 36% in this picture =>

I want to set aside this notion that anything above 20% is huge gut territory. Most lifters, including powerlifters, have a much higher bodyfat percentage then they think.

They exist, no doubt.

Let's not leave HGH out of the equation. To get that big of a LBM you need some HGH. A lean (12-15%) 270 is a very rare bird. And a bird with a deep wallet.

He looks leaner above then he does in the squat video.

I dont know much about AS, or HGH. I dont think their is any doubt that Kirk was getting some help though. If I thought I had a shot at being the best in the world.... It would be a hard choice for me as well.

Just for the record I am not criticizing him...merely stating to get 275 ripped you need more than AAS (steroids) unless you are very tall. This "more" is HGH.

I have noticed i have a sweet spot in regards to BF and strength. When around 245 and 18% bf i seem to be the strongest. I have been as high as 275 and as low as 225 and I was no stronger or weaker that i am at 245, with regards to where my training was at the time. I have grown consistanly stronger over the years and I keep leaning out while maintaining body weight. I am tossing around the big decision now of whether to get to a weight range where 231 will be easy to make for strongman. I am completely torn over this at the moment.
