I personally like jumping around a lot, HLM is awesome. Their is a benefit to each rep range and total volume for sure, everything from HIT to HVT to HFT. I'm currently starting a 5x3 bench program...

I personally hunt Bear with a 1895 Marlin 45-70. It will stop a bear dead but its also a leaver action. If you are just looking for self defense than a 12 gauge shot gun with slugs is what you want....
