Strongman Competition write-up
Got first place in the Novice Lightweight (under 231) division at Central Georgia's Strongest Man this weekend. I weighed in at 211 the night before.
First event was a max log clean and press. I opened with 210, pressed it easily. Next attempt was 230. Cleaned it easily, but missed my first attempt at a press. Reset the log on my shoulders, got a little more pop, and pressed it. Last attempt was 240. Failed that one. Tied for first place.
Frame deadlift was next. The weight was 400 pounds for reps in 60 seconds. Stopped at 26 reps since that's what I needed for first place.
Yoke Carry. I don't know my time on this, but it was good for first place. 450 pounds 50 ft down, 50 ft back.
500 pound tire flip. 5 flips down, 5 flips back. Time was 26.79 seconds. First place.
Stone over bar. 225 pound stone, 5 reps. First place.
I'm happy with how it went. Now that I have placed I can't do Novice anymore. Next competition will probably be in June or July.
