Default Tip toeing around Rippetoeing... god i'm clever

Short and sweet gents:

Should I ditch madcows and go back to SS? It's been a few years since I ran SS and I'm wondering if the type of progression it provides versus madcow should be what I'm doing? Thanks bros.

Just stick to madcow and give it time. Don't be in a rush, it will happen, just stick to your plan.

You hear that SS is faster and everybody wants it faster, right? Well sometimes faster will just burn you out. If you like madcow and you make gains on it, why switch? it's not about how much you gain this year, it's about how much you gain in the next ten years. Slow down and enjoy yourself.

I agree with OR. Where your lifts are right now steady progression is the key. They are pretty decent, and I see you popping a 300 bench, 375 deadlift and 300 squat in 2012. That's close to a grand total.

If you tried to go too rapid you would probably just hit more bumps.

Keep building and working on form. Allow your tendons and ligaments to strengthen, learn more about what your body can handle, and keep riding the wave.

The real key in my opinion is to use a workout you enjoy. This building process should be fun.

I just want to highlight this. Take some notes! Write down how you're feeling during heavier weeks, how stress effects you, how sleep effects you. What feels good, what doesn't. Your mood, sex drive, how does it all fit together.

In 5 years time if you want to be the kind of lifter who has *made it* instead of one who jumps from routine to routine you need to become more knowledgeable about yourself. Stick to this for now, not saying you have to do it forever, but milk it for what it's worth now and start making your own notes about how you respond to it. They will help you, if not now then in the future.

i agree. after reviewing madcow i really like the 5 lifts, so no prob.
