Nice work. Didn't know he squatted wide stance, and didn't expect a narrow grip on the bench.

Dude is a beast. Apparently didn't pull for 6-8 months either before this meet but he loves some power cleans so that'll help.

Well I am the oddball that believes power cleans and high pulls function as a good speed work option for powerlifting, but I understand I am a lone man in a corner on this issue...

One thing about "not deadlifting" that I find interesting is the topic of grip. I use straps and was cautioned many times that it might lead to grip issues on the platform. For me it wasn't the case. Jamie's situation is very similar, but I assume he is still doing rows and shrugs with straps?

All of his pulls were with straps as well but then strapping on and shrugging 1000lbs will probably give you a fair amount of grip work :D

Well that's the bet I was hedging. I don't know how well it would work for someone still with a relatively weak grip, but it does make for an interesting discussion.

My guess is your grip clearly isn't going to get stronger with straps but it seems it doesn't get weaker either... Poses the question of whether or not I should consider pulling heavy with straps to train my back evenly?
