Never used one, but would like to have one and some plates to do loaded carry work for GPP, would be sweet. I dont think the trapbar deadlift is anything like a proper pull, not by the looks of it and thats all i know.

I plan to start both my kids with the Trap Bar before we move on to more complicated movements. The Trap Bar is easy to learn and relatively safe. If they are bending over with a Trap bar, they will surely bend over with a Traditional Deadlift. Proper form must be taught with ALL lifts. For me, the most dangerous part of a Trap Bar Deadlift is at the top where there is no stabilization. The Trap Bar is more of a Squat replacement than a Deadlift replacement. If power lifting isn't your goal, I see no reason not to give the Trap Bar the nod.

Don't be swayed so easily. I can post many testimonials in favor of the Trap Bar from well respected trainers and writers.

Iron Addict was a huge fan of the TBar DL. He claimed that it was practically impossible to cheat with it. I personally built myself to 225lbs using little more than TBar DLs and 2 or 3 upper body lifts.
